Get a book on feng shui. It will tell you the most auspicious directions. West is generally a very good direction to face, but it does depend on what is outside your front door, also. Good luck!

As long as your windows and doors are well sealed, i dont think the direction matters.

Your deck (if you have one) will be shaded in the evening..which is probably a good thing if you live in a hot summer climate.

My house faces east, which i thought would be good if i tried to sell it to people who believe in feng shui, but supposedly it lets the love and money spirits out too easily

Cold wind blows from the north nothwest, most homes larger windows are on the front so anytime they are facing the cold your pay more in heating. Big windows facing sun means higher temps in summer, higher ac bills. There was a reason ol' timers built homes faceing south.

__There are literally thousands of homes in my city that face (have the front door facing) west.
__Any house that's square is going to have at least one wall that faces west or partially west.
__You get to watch the sunset thru your front door

__Bad luck? No, unless this is really a Fung Shui question. I believe in the aesthetics of Fung Shui, but the strict adherence to all the directional doctine is a bit "cultish" to me.

depends if u are living in hot climate or cold climate. i suggest u place the rooms aropund the house to suit ur needs.

bedrooms shouldnt have too much light inthe morning

if its hot cllimate they shouldnt receive a lot of heat in the afternoon as they would then be too hot to sleep in in the eve

make sure there are no windows infornt of the tv

make sure u put shutters if in hot climate

Always been good luck for me. Had an east-facing house once, lost the first wife... actually, having said that, maybe the east-face house is better... hmmm.
