I am looking for a budget honeymoon destination for a late June – early July honeymoon. We require a beach and another culture. We want to sit on the beach and enjoy/experience another culture. Please offer any recommendations! It needs to be safe, have a primary language other than English, be affordable (Roughly less than 2K per person for 1 week of hotel and flight from Minneapolis, (4K total)), be located on the beach, be warm and not TOO rainy. There must be at least some sort of nightlife and good food. So far we have looked at Buenos Aeros, Arg. Faro/Lisbon Portugal, and Ixtap Mexico. Please offer suggestions and opinions! We are not rich, but we would love a beach adventure in another culture (we have travelled a lot). Thank you!

Try Puta Cana, Dominic Republic.
Off season there, and not yet Hurricane Season, so price is low.
Beaches BEAUTIFUL, white sands, warm water.
Mainly Spanish, but most know English.
Heading there end on June.
Check out Apple Vacations, read reviews.

What about the Carribean? I've been to Puerto Rico, The Bahamas and am going to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic next week. Some locales are better than others but they are all beautiful and pretty cheap.

Bueno Aires is not located near a beach (river, yes) and is at least 2-3 hours away from one (I've been researching there for a vacation).

Puerto Rico is beautiful and if you go I suggest going to the western part of the island (Aguadilla/Mayaguez/Arecibo) or near the rain forest on the eastern side. San Juan is overrated and very commercialized.

Stay out of the Southern Hemisphere(BsAs) it is winter time in June.
Portugal does not have nice beaches either and the water is cold, however, deeper into the Mediterranean and on some Spanish islands there are affordable places. There are many Pensiones/Guest houses that cater to independent travelers and you don't pay the price of five star hotels. Eat 'street food' in small places, mix with the locals.
Mexico sounds tempting, however, watch out for hurricane season, May to October anywhere in the Caribbean. Ixtapa sounds good, what about Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, Santa Martha in Columbia(you sit in body temp water and gaze at snow capped Mt's inland), Costa Rican beaches on the Atlantic side.

One last word of caution. . .watch out for Mexican beach resorts, you don't want to get sick from food/water/fruit and get the AZTEC-TWO-STEP while on honymoon

Try a place called Ilfracombe, in North Devon England. Many languages are spoken, and many different types of people go there. It's a beautiful place. Go to Ilfracombe.com.
