Yes, that is the recommendation of my hairstylist and the box were the dye came in. Why do you think they sometimes provide shampoo and conditioners?

Washing it with shampoo right afterwards will usually take the color right back out. Read the directions in the box though. Work the dye into a good lather before you rinse it out and use the conditioner that came with the dye. Hold off on washing it for 24-48 hours with shampoo though.

I've dyed my hair for years. I like to wait a day or too. I suggest you rinse your hair thoroughly and wash a day or too later, however dyes have advanced over the years and YOU CAN wash it right away.

Are you doing it yourself? If it done by a pro, go ahead and wash it. Sometimes a little color gets left behind. Be sure to use a professional shampoo & conditioner for color treated hair. Store products can be harsh & have a stripping effect. If you're using a store bought brand there's probably an 800 # to call. Check w/them.

Most of the time when you dye your hair, and work it into a lather before you rinse it, that gets your hair clean. its pretty much the same as washing it.you might want to wash it before you color.

You usually wash it right after you color it. Then you should wait a few days before using shampoo, then use one for color-treated hair.

Believe me from experience, I die my hair(around 30 times since the 6th grade. I am in 9th grade now.) a lot but it kinda depends on what you mean. If you mean, if you mean as a shower later in the day then no. The directions should be on the box. I hope that helps you.

Well, I've always been told by my stylist to wait at least 2-3days before washing it.
