I have 3 female indoor cats, and normally during the night, they start "waking up" while we are sleeping, and they start playing with the reptiles we have in cages, and start playing with things in the house , they're bored, but i have no idea what to do to keep them busy during the night...

My cats LOVE the laser pointer! DO NOT shine it in their eyes though, but it is HOURS of fun for them chasing the red dot!

You should definitely not get up to entertain them at night! They will never leave you alone after that. Keep the reptiles where the cats can't reach them. If your house is big enough, put the cats in the basement or in a room where they can't break anything or be heard easily from your room. You could certainly leave them some toys there, and make sure they have access to their water and litter box.

You could try playing with them more during the day, to wear them out. The laser toy the first poster suggested is a great idea. Also during the day, teach them that certain objects are off-limits. A watergun or other water sprayer is a good idea.

Welcome to my world. LOL i have three female indoors as well and about 5am they start racing the "kitty daytona 500" through my entire house. So i bombarded them with all kinds of good stuff. I put up a bird feeder smack in front of my bay window and "THEY LOVE IT" since the birds start coming at 4:30-6am they are occupied and I can sleep. They also have string toys, no noise toys, catnip mouses, wheat grass, tennis balls, the plastic little rings that come off the milk jug, tinfoil balls, a floor to ceiling carpetted cat tree with three different shelves and an outdoor fenced in play yard (too cold for that on right now). Just introduce somehting new too them and maybe the variety will get them interrested in things other than waking you up.

Don't expect your cat to entertain himself. Get on the floor for a few minutes each day and play with the toys with the cat. The best way to get him to play is to do it yourself. Try new things, a Kitty Cube (about three dollars at Walmart) will make for hours of entertainment as the cat can roll around in it and hide or you can throw toys in for it to chase. Try an old deck of cards you don't mind having destroyed, play with them by doorways or where ever your cat cannot see you, let the card peek out just enough for the cat to see and attack. If nothing works maybe you need a second cat so that he can interact and play with someone his own size.

One thing you could do that cats love is to put a cat tower by a window. They'll look out of a window for hours! Or you could buy a window perch that the pet stores sell. Also buying them some toys would keep them occupied. Just make sure the toys don't have any small parts or strings on them that they could choke on. A cardboard box or paper bag will give them loads of fun, too!

my cats are the same way, we have 2 female kittens and a 7 year old male. I have to keep the bathroom doors closed or they knock stuff off the counters and tub and kick it around the house. They always find something to play with. Something that helps alot . I got a cat tunnel at the dollar store for 3 bucks they love it, one goes in and they jump around at each other. itss them in the living room to away from our room and slidding across the kitchen floor

I don't know how old the cats are; younger cats play more. My cats get up earlier with the sun but they tend to be nocturnal. I like having more than one cat so they keep themselves entertained rather than being constantly seeking your attention. Keep them busier during the day. It might be because your reptiles are nocturnal and attract the cats.

What I would do is tie a toy mouse to a piece of string, and every cat I owned loved it!
