Because the council of nicea in 325 CE decided it would be better to change the sabbath to the Sun god's day to make it more palatable to all of the roman pagans and unite the kingdom.
Christians generally don't believe that they are required to keep the Torah or Mosaic Laws. They believe that Jesus died for their sins and erased the law, so they are under no obligation to keep the Sabbath.

Here's just a few reasons:
Isaiah 1:13 - God begins to reveal His displeasure with the Sabbath.
Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:2,9; John 20:1,19- the Gospel writers purposely reveal Jesus' resurrection and appearances were on Sunday. This is because Sunday had now become the most important day in the life of the Church.
Acts 20:7 - this text shows the apostolic tradition of gathering together to celebrate the Eucharist on Sunday, the "first day of the week." Luke documents the principle worship was on Sunday because this was one of the departures from the Jewish form of worship.
1 Cor. 16:2 - Paul instructs the Corinthians to make contributions to the churches "on the first day of the week," which is Sunday. This is because the primary day of Christian worship is Sunday.
Col. 2:16-17 - Paul teaches that the Sabbath was only a shadow of what was fulfilled in Christ, and says "let no one pass judgment any more over a Sabbath."
2 Thess. 2:15 - we are to hold fast to apostolic tradition, whether it is oral or written. The 2,000 year-old tradition of the Church is that the apostles changed the Sabbath day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.
Heb. 4:8-9 - regarding the day of rest, if Joshua had given rest, God would not later speak of "another day," which is Sunday, the new Sabbath. Sunday is the first day of the week and the first day of the new creation brought about by our Lord's resurrection, which was on Sunday.
Heb. 7:12 - when there is a change in the priesthood, there is a change in the law as well. Because we have a new Priest and a new sacrifice, we also have a new day of worship, which is Sunday.
Rev 1:10 - John specifically points out that he witnesses the heavenly Eucharistic liturgy on Sunday, the Lord's day, the new day of rest in Christ.
Matt. 16:19; 18:18 - whatever the Church binds on earth is bound in heaven. Since the resurrection, Mass has been principally celebrated on Sunday.

First: Not all of us Christians are willing to do a shift on the sabbath, I'm not, but some people have no other options.
Second: While Sunday is technically the first day of the week, most of us really consider Monday to be the first day of the week.
Third: Jesus was resurrected on Sunday, I think that's why we have it on Sunday now, but I'm not completely sure.

Some do but sadly most do not. They have a variety of reasons. They speak of the Lord's Day as being Sunday and yet there is no biblical basis for that. They speak of Paul and his followers meeting late into the night on the first day of the week and yet in biblical times days began at sunset so they were actually meeting into the night on Saturday night. Many other explanations, none of which work for me.

. Exodus 20:8 remember the Sabbath day, to shop it holy - See what has been already reported in this idea, Gen_2:2, and elsewhere. See Clarke's note on Gen_2:2. As this became the most historic company, God calls them to recollect it; as if he had reported, do not ignore that after I had complete my introduction I instituted the Sabbath, and remember why I did so, and for what purposes. The be conscious ??? shabbath shows relax or cessation from not uncomplicated artwork; and the sanctification of the seventh day is commanded, as having something representative in it; and so certainly it has, for it typifies something else which remains for the persons of God, and through this gentle it obviously looks to were understood by technique of the apostle, Hebrews 4. because this commandment has not been really said interior the hot testomony as an ethical idea binding on all, hence some have presumptuously inferred that there is not any Sabbath less than the Christian dispensation. the actuality is, the Sabbath is considered as a variety: all kinds are of complete stress till eventually the element signified by technique of them takes position; although the element signified by technique of the Sabbath is that relax in glory which remains for the persons of God, hence the moral criminal responsibility of the Sabbath ought to proceed till eventually time be swallowed up in eternity. Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou not uncomplicated artwork - hence he who idles away time on any of the six days, is as responsible earlier God as he who works on the Sabbath. No artwork should be done on the Sabbath that could be done on the former days, or may nicely be deferred to the succeeding ones. Works of absolute necessity and mercy are on my own excepted. He who works by technique of his servants or cattle is both responsible as if he worked himself. Hiring out horses, etc., for exhilaration or business enterprise, happening journeys, paying worldly visits, or taking jaunts on the Lord's day, are breaches of this regulation. the entire of it really is going to be dedicated to at least something else of the body and the progression of the innovations. God says he has hallowed it - he has made it sacred and set it aside for the above purposes. it really is hence the most suitable day for public non secular worship. .

You remind me of the Pharisees.
Ex. 20:8 “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
We are to keep the Sabbath Day. Since it says that we work for six days...the Sabbath is to be our off day.
With that said, it doesn't matter the name of the day (Saturday, Sunday) just as long as we take one day off a week for rest and worship.
Jesus talked about doing good on the Sabbath. He healed on the Sabbath...so now...since I am a follower of Jesus. I believe He (Jesus) covered that issue.

The meaning of the word "holy" (Hebrew--"kadosh") means "to set apart for a special purpose". Usually, the special purpose has to do with worship of God, but the meaning is not consistant from one ritual to the next, not even in Jewish Law.
So when Christians set Sunday aside for church and family activities, they actually ARE keeping the sabbath.

Jesus said that they have tether the donkey so that means that they did work on the sabbath.
We do whatsoever we do as long as we keep the sabbath on one day of the week. Any day as long as it is dedicated to the Lord.
