Yes it is because people always think there is something greener on the other side. But all relationships have that fire and thrill to begin with when the attraction is there. But as time goes by something else takes over or should because that flare changes. Than you have the people that go after someone elses mate not caring. But I always say if they did it to you, what makes them think it wont happen to them.

My wife comes from a diverced family. She and I decided a long time ago that was not the way that we would live. My parents have a very long and happy marriage and are constantly with one another. They are a wonderful couple. We have a 31 years marriage and are both Christians. I am as faithful to her as any puppy dog could ever be. She is the most special gift that GOD has ever given to me. HE gave us three wonderful children to raise and cherish also. I believe that if a young couple become Christians and are sincere about their marriage vows between themselves and GOD then the marriage contract will last a lifetime. People today think that marriage is a fun thing to do NOT a CONTRACT with our FATHER in Heaven. HE instituted marriage and HE has outlined that it is a lifelong committment. It is a shame that the divorce rate, the murder rate, the suicide rate, and the theft rates are all going up but it is understandable, GOD has been replaced by satan in many people's lives. GOD wants us to read, study, and obey HIS WORD. That should be an important part of our lives each and every day with our family members. We should be attending worship services every week without taking off for football, shopping, eating out, or anythying else. GOD comes first. Until that happens, our divorce rate will continue to rise. Have a great day!

It is the sign of the times. When the "man" was head of household and women role was to be the "housewife" they had no control. Woman put up with allot of crap. They did not have a job or enough skills, to support themselves and children A woman at that time had little to no choice but to stay married. Things have changed. Unlike some of our mothers and grandmothers who stayed married out of a need not a choice. Woman now have a choice to stay married rather then a need.

Because we are a throw-away society. There is no point in trying to fix something if you can get a new one. Marriage is extremely hard work. And when things begin to get a little hard people quit. They want things to be happy and perfect all the time. Its not going to happen no matter who you are with! Don't get me wrong there are always exceptions and sometimes people NEED to get divorced but a lot of it isn't necessary.

Changing social norms. It used to be that people stuck it out even if it wasn't a great marriage because they were supposed to. The church, their family, society as a whole, expected them to stick it out.

Now, people bail out for the lamest reasons because there's no "stigma" to being divorced and, face it, marriage is work.

Yup, it's to easy to leave these days. NO one sticks around and tries to fix the problems, at the first sign of trouble they bail. The ones who do try to fix it expect miraculous cures. Most don't know that it can take years to repair a relationship, not 6 months.

People's emotional and physical needs must be met. Since marriage ties you to one person what is one to do if these aren't met? I assume those two things were the initial ties to each other.
Too bad they wait until there are children involved, but even then, it is better than burdening these young ones.

Yes. Because more people are jumping into it than testing the waters first. And infidelity is getting more "normal".
