You sound like you adore your baby. It's so cute!
All cats have different tails - long, short, bent, straight, fluffy, smooth... I like to think a cat's tail is like a human's hair!!!
Yes, there are ways to know what a cat is thinking by the movement of its tail... have a look at the link below.
Also, I read your other question about taking JJ to the vet - I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine. Don't feed him before though! Give him kisses from me and my eight babies xxxxxxxx

JJ was born with that tail, don't worry, he can handle it.
Cats do communicate with the tail. When they walk toward you with their tail up straight and just the tip bent forward, it's like saying "hi." A switching tail means "I'm getting angry, watch it." A tail lying on the floor, with the very tip twitching, denotes interest, fascination, or stalking if it's watching birds etc.
A tail carried high with a gentle curve shows he's in a good mood.
And of course if it's fluffed out like a brush, he's scared.

Based on your question about neutering JJ, he is clearly your first cat. A longer tail is fine. It doesn't mean anything other than he has a long tail.

ive had many cats and all tail sizes are different, some looped a little some dead straight, and some change from hour2hour,
occasionally when the cat is distressed it will put its tail down, but this will not be a loop but it will look broken, this happened to 1 of my cats when it got in fight and got bitten, we thought it had a broken tail but it was the cat pushing his tail down himself

well i think that thatcat is just special because i have a cat and he has a longer tail then my older cat and it always forms like a question mark so i think it is just normal but if it starts acting strange like stops eating or something like that then i think that u should call the vet but if you dont believe me u can call the doc just to ya know check up on things

LOL if I could only read tails..No seriously, if it doesn't affect his balance and he isn't in pain. No big deal. Some cats are born with tails that curl at the end, such as manx. He may be mixed domestic with manx or something weird. I wouldn't worry about it.

When I got one of my cats, his tail was so long! It looked comical! But over time, he grew into his tail! I don't think you have anything to worry about but if you want peace of mind, just call your vet and ask him.

When your cat's tail is up and curled, he is very happy to see you.
If his tail is wagging, that means he has 2 or more things on his mind, like: I want to be petted, but I also want to go check out that noise.
