Okay for those who like it. I am happy to look, at least at some people's tastes in post stamp sized fashions.

Hi Tania. Good question.
I go to the nude beach near my home on Long Island, so I'm obviously in favor of wearing as little on the beach as possible. I feel that there are times, places and situations where nudity (or toplessness, if not complete nudity) is perfectly appropriate, and a beach or pool certainly qualifies.
Unfortunately, in our society many people still equate any form of nudity with sex, and therefore feel angered or ashamed when simple nudity takes place in public. As anyone who's spent time on a nude beach knows, nudity is always sensual but usually not sexual.
Going topless or wearing only a thong (or going completely naked) is a great way to enjoy the beach or pool, or just lying in the sun on a warm day. It's not lewd, sinful, perverted, exhibitionist or any other negative term that some in our society choose to apply to this simple pleasure.
Here in NY it's legal for a girl to be topless any place a guy can, so more and more girls are going topless on regular "clothed" beaches every summer. As far as I can tell, nobody has ever dropped dead from the sight of a bare boob or bare butt...if you've never tried it, I'd seriously recommend it.
You'll absolutely love it!
Bare hugs...

I won't say I hate it, but it is a little awkward. When I went to the Caribbean and few years ago, I stayed at a resort that catered to Europeans and Latin Americans. In those countries, topless beaches are normal, so a lot of women were walking around like that. I just didn't look.
I don't think topless beaches would work in America, but I'm respectful of other cultures and won't be bothered by it when I'm on vacation. Also, not something I would do personally.

Im a woman and wouldn't mind going topless although for this and wearing a thong i know i haven't got the figure. Men have to go topless of course and in a thong? well, that depends on whether they suit it or not.
As for in front of children - women topless? I don;t really see any harm in it.
Only problem I'd have is looking at ppl because so women have lovely figures but it doesn't mean i'm being pervy or dykey by looking - just admiring and wishin I was like them lol.

Topless sunbathing should be allowed anywhere. Why women's breasts are so taboo in the US, I'll never know. I personally prefer a no-lines tan so will walk a ways down the beach here in FL to find a place I can tan sans clothing.
Thongs....eh, I don't find them offensive but very few people look good in them. Many butts I've seen in thongs would've been better served in something else. Just because one has a firm or small tochis, doesn't mean a thong will be flattering on it.

I am an adult, without children, who sees nothing wrong with people who wish to subathe topless or wear thongs on beaches. However, I do believe they should restrict this to areas such as clothing-optional beaches, since a day at the beach is a pleasurable passtime for families, and I don't agree that they create a family friendly environment. For everything there is a proper way.

Tania, I am a heterosexual man. So, of course, I enjoy seeing women's bare breasts and butts. So I think it's great that women go to the beach topless in thongs! I wish all American beaches allowed that, like the beaches in Europe and Israel do!

Topless bathing has been seriously out of fashion for a long time. And thongs look disgusting even on nice bodies.

Surely it's the same as any other clothing dilema - you've got to ask yourself if you're the kind of person that looks good thus attired, or whether people are going to laugh/ feel ill.
Of course, if other people's opinions of what you're wearing don't govern your clothing choices, it's a moot point, really.
Unless you plan to approach young children and rub your genitalia in their faces while wearing a thong, you're not breaking any laws.

Have gone topless in the past, before I had the kids though.
Think where you are has to be taken into consideration as well.
Don't do thongs and think there's alot of people out there that shouldn't either....

Doesn't do anything for me either way, I don't do it 'cause I don't think it's particularly comfy, but I neither object to it nor do I particularly enjoy it. To each their own, I'm just not a people-watcher so I probably wouldn't even notice what others are or aren't wearing.
