Why is it that all the gods people believe in today for religion were made up thousands of years ago?...and during the same time, people used gods to explain natural phenomena that they couldn't understand (god of fire, sun, sea)....
if someone proclaimed a new god today and worshipped it, EVERYONE WOULD THINK HE/SHE IS CRAZY AND COMPLETELY DELUSIONAL.
yet people still devote their lives to a 'god', thinking it's real and everything said about it is real. sound delusional??

There are, the way musicians and sports figures are idolised by ignorant people is very close to religion - the UFO phenomenon (in peoples minds) is also a new religion dressed up scientific language.
God doesn't exist.

Not all gods are worshipped in a church building.
I-pods, computer technology, cars/SUVs, homes, relationships, careers & jobs.......
All of these things can become gods to some people.
Gotta have the latest electronic gadget? It's likely that technology is a god to you.
New gods are made all the time.
Also: Jim Jones, David Koresh, Joseph Smith, Mary Baker Eddy, William Miller and Ellen G. White, Charles Russell have all introduced and founded new religions and cults. Some have been successful, and others have horribly destructive. All these mentioned were established in the 19th and 20th Centuries.

Satan has become more craftier over the year, my friend.
In the past, people's means of researching has not compared with what we have today (along with procedures to test those theories). They relied solely on word of mouth.
Thor was never seen (but Jesus was).
Today, these 'gods' (notice the little g) we had to become more visual and tangible - since those are the senses we rely on mainly today. So today we (as people) are worshipping cars, money, other people, etc.
It would be completely delusional to put your belief on something you built with your own hands, but we do it. When you think about it, it's sad putting your life into something that can be corroded, taking away from you, that's not really yours, or sits there in one spot not doing anything.

I think at this point in our evolution where we can look back and understand why there used to be a God for everything. (The God of wine was always my Favorite.) I think we've reached the point where we now understand that there is only one God . The next step in our evolution would be to understand that the one God goes by many names......and God is a power not a person. Maybe the reason there are not any new Gods -yet- is because we are here to remember that God happens thru us and not to us. And who knows, maybe when we remember it, there's no longer any reason for us to be here???

2. I would like to think people are progressing beyond the need for religion, but this is a fallacy. I suppose it's harder to reinforce religious miracles now a days with the invention of the internet, WorldWide TV, video cameras.

My goodness, not to be rude or judgmental, but do you ever read the paper or hear the news..??? There are new ppl coming along all the time, all over the world, claiming they are gods and praching of their NEW religionss. all over the world. and the ppl that wrship them are dillusional, just like the ones that worship all the other false gods. God of the Bible tells us if anyone brings teachings without the teachings of Jesus Christ, they are false and we are to flee them,. The devil is behind every false god and every in their is, as he wants no one saved , and knows he cant be, and doesnt want anyone to stay with Jesus Christ. And that is not myth. Wait till you have seen and felt the true presence of God, wait till you have seen Him do a miracle for someone you love. Wait till you hear HIs voice, just wait and see. GOd says one day every knee will bow and know He is God, but then its too late. One must choose Jesus Christ now, before they die or He comes agin, whichever comes first. or its too late.
No, the true God is not myth and ppl believing in Him are not dillusional. The ones that are binded by the devil are the ones tat have such dark glasses on and they cant see the light. But, we arent to judge them, we are o pray for them. Just becaue you do not bleieve, doesnt mean God is not real. You know what, I always say this. to make one think. What if you are right? and no you arent. BUt, I have othing t lose by believeing. I live a clean life, a happylife, without all the nonsense. I live with self respect, andgive it to others. a good thing, what do I lose?

You lose out on a forever life with God in total paradise forever and ever,getting your family back that died bfore you, if they were Gods ppl. You have so much to lose if you are wrong. Hell is not worth any price of a sacrifice you have to make here. Jesus sacrificed it all for you, didnt he? Yet, you still reject Him. He died for us all. I canonly pray you will know in time. Yes, I have seen proof and many of us have. not only in miracles, but Him speaking audibly to me to get me thru a situation. When you experience that, try telling me its false. or any other Christian. There is also much Bible evidecne found in varios places and prophecies that have come true all over. much evidence. You cant prove the big bang theory. science says it just was, well where did the gas come from for he explosion? You will say I cant proove Gos is real, but you cant prove your way is real either. BUt, I can sure give you muc h evidencefor it.
Yes, we do dedicte or entire lives to God, and are glad to do so. He protects us and loves us and gives us eternal salvation, and He loves as we are, yet loves us too much to let us stay in such sin filled situations. The Holy Spirit leads to change..

How would you explain a dying child, like I had that was in a situation where only severe 243/7 would come and continue till death. BUt, after prayer, he never even had a heachache or needed an aspirn, with two brain surguries??? NO PAIN BUD> Yet the tumor had feeders that spread acorss his eyes , behind the optic nerve and never touched them. miracles. even the docs couldnt expalin it. Sure that was myth.. NOT. If you need to believe that, rather than live a life of sinlessless and sacrifice for the Lord, that is your choice. BUt, dont tell me I am dillusional to believe it. I am offended, yet I love you and forgive you. So will God if yu ask.

whenthe prophecies from revelations come to pass are you going to be one of them who fall down and worship a statue,that cannot talk,walk,eat,or do anything that we including Jesus,if you don't wether or not you believe in God you will be put to death,i would much rather go to paradice than hell where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth
