There are hundreds, if not thousands, that can exclude you.

Many are waiverable, depending on the circumstances (i.e., my brother is flat footed but he ran track in high school without issue so he received a waiver).

Also, some just require treatment before you can enlist (i.e., a friend of mine had a bone spur on his foot that he had to have removed in order to clear MEPS).

Many will restrict your options, but you can still enlist (i.e., a friend of mine was color blind and therefore was limited to a half dozen MOSs).

If you can't duck walk, you're out, I know that one for sure (another buddy).

A recruiter should be able to give a list of dealbreakers. Never, ever withold information at MEPS in an attempt to get in though, it WILL come back to bite you.

I think the two you named with exclude you.

You have to be basically healthy - reasonably fit, etc.

The general concern is - if this person were trapped on the frontline, would they be able to survive if they couldn't get their medication, etc.

It's pretty tough, but if you are considering or know someone and want to find out for sure, ask a local recruiter - they can tell you. (I think it varies a little by which branch, but the general guidelines are similar)

There are a lot of medical reasons to exclude you. Ulcers won't get you in, heart disease. The biggest is obesity.
