Depends on your perspective.
God is mean in the same way that your parents are "mean" when they tell you not to do something you want to, or when they give you chores to do. We don't always understand the reason why things happen to us, but God loves you and is trying to help you grow as a person.
God never gives us more than we are able to handle, and He is always ready to help us through the difficult times. We can sometimes get wrapped up in the "here and now" and lose perspective on the things that are really important - God has a better perspective.
Sometimes it may seem mean, but in time you will see that He always has your best interests in mind.

No. Not a mean bone in them. None. only good. But, they do have to do things to teach us, just like a parents will have to dicipline a child, because they love them and want them to grow up and knowo how to be. Eventually, the bad ppl are sent to hell, but it isnt God that made that choice. When a person wont stop being mean and rebellious, God has no choice but to remove them, so the rest of His ppl wanting to live in love, peace and harmony, are allowed to do so. By rejectng Jesus and thn following the devil whether they know it or not, they have chosen hell for themselves. All must choose Jesus before they die or He comes again, whichever comes first, there is NO other way. and He does this in love, as He is wanting only wonderful for His ppl. If the others wont choose it, thats not Gods fault, He sure tries to tell us all, but many are stubborn and wont listen.

God is not mean. Aren't you breathing? Able to talk? eating well? in 1 piece?
God is not mean. God is what "parents" need to take lessons from. I say that because if you look at it from a parential-perspective, we (man) as children need some type of guidance and discipline. The only thing is, he doesn't force it on us. It's our choice to accept his guidelines or reject him. I accept - by the way.
One point that people fail to consider is that Satan rejected him, and is now (and still) fighting against him. When bad things happen, it is Satan at work. Don't blame God. If we go to him, he will take care of us. I am speaking as someone who once opposed him, but who has been humbled. Now I'm trying to keep others from making the same mistake that I did.
Honestly, can you imagine living on this planet forever. I am glad there is another plane of life out there to look forward to. There is absolutely nothing on earth that will last forever except our Spirits (not to be confused with our flesh).
Take care and God bless you.

No.
The living God is faithful (even when we aren't.)
The living God is loving (even when we don't love Him.)
The living God is understanding (even when goof up.)
The living God sent Jesus when we were still sinners...to save us...not condemn us. (See John 3:16-17).

Nope, if He was mean we wouldn't be here. People always seem to like to blame Him for things we did. He didn't mess up the world and He didn't invent war or plagues.
