The perfect gift is just something he would like. If you go to sleep in a Tshirt and boxers everynight, put on some sexy lingerie before you go to sleep on Valentine's day. He will love it. Cook him dinner, get him some beers. Guys are simple. A nice bottle of scotch- or whatever he drinks will also suffice. He doesn't want chocolates or candy, he wants to see you in sexy lingerie when his belly is full of the delicious dinner you cooked him.

Tickets to a game for his favorite team (not for you two, but for him and a group of his guy friends), a treat to his favorite restaurant, music, books, etc. Stick to practical stuff, too. I find those big teddy bears, stuffed animals, and candy stuff are cheesy junk & clutter. But the "perfect gift" varies from person to person, so take his best interests in mind. Have fun! ;)
