The purpose started out celebrating before the first day of Lent; go wild before Lent arrives and you have to be good. The point is still the same; having fun and going wild.

it depends who i'm with.. if any family members or friends come in from out of state.. i show them all of Mardi Gras.. and New Orleans.. but usually.. i dont go to many parades.. maybe i'll go to 1 everyother year. I love mardi gras .. and the tradition .. but.. It does get old after many years

tradition. party with friends and people i dont even know! i dont really care if i leave the parades with nothing anymore, even though thats impossible.
