Dented in, fine. It was just dropped. Dented out may mean some kind of food poisoning.

I dont think anything with dents in it. My great grandmother who lived to be 106 stressed not doing it

As long as the dent is pushed IN and not out. If it's pushed or popped out...throw it away!
