Saturday Morning I was sitting with my old lady she was staring out the window as if lost in thought. Trying to be nice I asked "penny for you thoughts". Big mistake, ten bucks and five hourse later she was still going on and on. So I left another fiver and went to the bar. She called two hours later mad at me. What did I do wrong?

I did listen for 5 hours, she didn't even notice I was gone for another 2.

Next time I will make sure she knows she only gets a quarter's worth of thoughts. Heck, like the guy said from now on 2 cents worth is more than enough.

I can tell you exactly what you did wrong.....this womans mouth is not for yakking...its for wrapping its self around certain body parts...what were you thinking my good man? Next time tell her to put her mouth to good use when she is sitting there staring off into space with nothing to do!

OK so for the five hours, what did she say? or were you lost in your thoughts, like "oh sh*t, why did I ask?" She had something on her mind. You asked about it. You ran while she was still telling you. Mistake one. Mistake two. You were gone so long without even a call to let her know you were alright.

When will you learn, don't ask the question if you don't want the answer.

She sounds like my aunt. I don't think she even takes a breath when she's talking b/c I can't ever get out so much as a CAN out of "Can I call you later." Once I put down the phone and watched a thirty minute TV show and picked it back up and she was still saying Hello?

It basically boils down to this: you opened the can of worms, so you need to stick around till the mess is cleaned up. She's mad because you asked her a question and didn't let her finish her answer. I know it sucks but that's how some girls work.

It doesn't sound like you did anything wrong. It does sound like there is something bothering her and finding out what is going on with her and her feelings are probably more important than what you did wrong. You probably shouldn't have went to the bar while she was obviously hurting.

This quote immediately came to mind: "If you can't stand the heat, get outta the kitchen."
In other words, don't ask if you aren't prepared to listen.
You're really lucky she only took your money and didn't take off your head as you headed for the door!

maybe she wanted to be hugged, and your weren't very comforting, and you thought money would solve it, and by doing so you pissed her off. Maybe next time show a little more compassion, and don't be afraid to show her you care, so be thoughtful. shes the #1 person in your life, beer comes second

You're sweet for asking and I hope you learned your lesson. Don't ask next time because she clearly didn't see the effort you made.
