"Ignorance is bliss"

What more can I say?

Religion and atheism are on the same field. Neither are better than the other. Religion is having a bunch of brain washed people acting like zombies because they have been feed so many Pagan lies their whole life. As for me I will stick to the un-worldy truth of the Bible, and stay out of the churches.Nothing is necessarily better than the other, it's all about what YOUR personal decision is. Feel free to believe what you want and challenge others.

Religion, generally speaking, has all the answers laid out so thinking for oneself is not required. As such, it is energy saving and therefore better. Likewise, if it can be assumed that religion is a byproduct of a useful genetic trait that permitted the continued existence of the species for some groups more than others, then it may also serve to protect the species at times though it may harm specific groups locally.

When you say better if you mean better at scaring the c r a p out of young children by feeding them a fairy tale that they will burn in a place called hell for all eternity if they do not believe in God.

Then I would say that religion is better than atheism at that!

Or do you mean a certain religion that is better at making men bottle up their sexual urges by telling them to serve God requires he not take a wife and never have sex nor masturbate and then he becomes the best at being a deviant!

Religion meets some people's needs and provides comfort to them in times of trouble. Atheists, on the other hand, are *doomed* to ....... wait for it..... get their support from others in their lives: spouse, family, friends etc.

Is one better than another, no. It really matters what's right for the indiviual.

Atheism allows people the right to do anything within the realm of morality. Religion allows people to be duty-bound to do whatever they want, regardless of morality.

There are statistics that people who have a religious belief system live longer, more peaceful lives. I suspect this is due to the fact that most who follow religious doctrine abstain from premarital sex, drugs, smoking and alcohol.

As for the people, that's a whole other topic :-)
