I've a HD TV Monitor. How do I connect my traditional cable to my HD TV monitor. Do I have to buy any other accessories to watch Cable TV on this?

You would need a cable box and your cable box should have video and audio outputs. You would use one of those to your HDTV monitor.

Cable(s) to use from best to worst.

FOR VIDEO ....

HDMI - DIGITAL - usually carries video and audio so no other cable should be necessary. HD compatible

DVI - DIGITAL - older technology, backward compatible with HDMI video. You would need to hook up audio separately. HD compatible

Component - ANALOG - Three wire connection, RCA connectors Blue, Green and Red color coded jacks. Audio separate. HD capable.

S-Video - ANALOG - one wire, s-video connector. Audio separate. Does not output HD.

Composite Video - ANALOG - one wire, RCA connector usually yellow color code. Audio separate. Does not output HD.

FOR AUDIO...

Optical output (toslink) - DIGITAL - Fiber optic cable. Provides surround sound to a surround sound receiver.

Coaxial digital output - DIGITAL - 75 ohm coax cable with RCA connectors. Unknown color code but jack should be labeled coax digital. Provides surround sound to a surround sound receiver.

RCA plugs - ANALOG - Good old stereo hookup with Red and white color coded RCA connectors. Will only provide stereo signal.
