I'm assuming that you have either coverage or money, as first-time patient visits can be pretty expensive. If not, are you medicaid eligible--as they will pay for this for eligible people.
Ask friends, relatives, co-workers, neighbors, etc. what doctor they go to--and how they like him or her. Word-of-mouth is the best way to find a good doctor.
You can also check out your local yellow pages under physicians, and try to find a doctor near your home or work. You call and make an appointment--ask on the phone how much it will cost.

if u dont have insurance, or any form of health insurance actually try going to a clinic or go online and try to find the nearest planned parenthood depending on ur income they can give u a general check upfor free

If you have a dentist, ask him for a referral. Ask friends and neighbors. You can also call a hospital and ask them for the name of a doctor who is the head of their internal medicine dept. He would have to be an excellent Dr. to have that position.

Where do you live? You can just do a yahoo local search for "doctor" and see if anyone has wrote a good review about one.
