it depends what you wrote in the letter... Did you threaten your ex-boyfriend with serious bodily injury, and was such a threat specific and credible? For example, if you wrote something like you were going to throw him into a meat grinder, that isn't very credible and cannot be taken seriously. However, if you wrote something like, "I know where you live, and I am going to wait outside for you in my car, with my father's .38 loaded, and you will never know when I will be there..." Such a threat is specific and very serious.

In any event, the next time the mother threatens to tell on you, tell her to go ahead and do it, that way you can settle the matter once and for all.

While none of us know exactly what you wrote in that letter but you, it has been a year since the writing of that letter and no harm has come to your ex-bf. If he or his mother are still harassing you and trying to hold this letter over your head, my suggestion to you would be to file a Restraining Order against BOTH of them. It's a simple process. Go to your local court house, you'll fill out a form and pay a small fee (around $15). You will be called in to see a Judge to explain your situation and the Judge more than likely will grant your request for a Restraining Order. The Restraining Order will be good for one year from the date of being granted. Please also be advised that the stipulations in the Restraining Order will also apply to YOU. This means that if the Judge says there is to be NO CONTACT WHATSOEVER between the parties, this includes YOU not contacting your ex-bf or his mother. If you abide by those rules, you'll be OK. Should the other parties BREAK the rules of the Restraining Order, you can legally have them arrested by showing an Officer of the Law your copy of the Restraining Order. Hope this helps you out. PS: You'll have to hire a Process Server to have the Restraining Order delivered into the hands of your ex and his Mom. (You can get a list of Process Servers from the Court.)

What exactly did you say? Did you threaten to kill someone? Chances are you probably won't get in trouble, but it also depends on exactly what you said. If he's your ex, why are you in contact with him at all? Is he stalking you? If he is, I'd go to the police first, and tell them everything, (including about the letter and how they're using it to harass and threaten you) and file a restraining order. If you tell the police about it first, then there's nothing they can do.

It depends on what it said. If you threatened him then it's possible, but it depends on what the cops think. If they feel his life is in jeopardy or not. Own up to your responsibility. Tell her to give it to the cops. Get it over with. Then she can't threaten you any more.

I suggest next time you get your emotions under control before acting out like a child.

It depends on what you wrote..If you threathen him physically in the letter than yeah....I think that you shouldnt talk to the dean over the school once more and tell him how the dude is threathing you, if that doesnt work...than go to the cops...tell your parents...tell someone who will listen and help you.....

Don't worry. His mom is threatening you only. She's lying when she says going to the cop. It just doesn't make sense.

Relax, go for the gym, sweat it out, and serve yourself a good dinner with a good friend. And remember to sleep well. Good dreams.

Remember to forget about this incident. It's just not important.

Did you threaten her or divulge evidence of something illegal you did? If its just a mean letter the cops will laugh at her
