First of all, quit picking at it. From now on, just be sure to keep it clean and use a mild anti-bacterial soap. Also keep a THIN layer of A & D ointment on it. Do not use triple antibiotic - it will treat the ink as a foreign body and try to get rid of it. You may have a bit of scarring or smudging but you should be fine. Don't pick the scabs, keep the ointment on and it will soften them up and they'll heal on their own.

My husband is a tattoo artist and I have 13 tattoos and everyone that gets a tattoo from him He tells them DO NOT PICK OFF THE SCABS let them fall off by them selves and if you pick them it will pull the color out and I know this from experience I picked the scabs off one of mine and it looks awful but it did it to show people what it looks like when you do that , it's on top of my foot so i don't have to look at it all the time . I will one day get it colored back in , That's the only thing you can do , and put some A&D ointment on it . Its makes the tattoo look smooth and silky. Sorry about your tattoo , Hope this won't be your last and that you have learned from your mistake.

Didn't you listen to the artist?? Your never supposed to pick the tatoo as it scabs!! I know it's hard to ignore the itch but to guarantee the best tattoo never pick the scab. You might have to wait until it completely heals and then go back and get the part that you picked touched up again.

Obviously, you should never have picked the scab. You are going to have to wait for it to heal and get it re-colored in the spots you picked. Next time, follow the instructions on the after-care sheet that any reputable artist gives out after doing ink on someone. Do not ever pick the scabs--it ruins the color.

There is a reason the tattooist says to not pick at scab and now you know why. The only thing I know to tell you is to go back to your tattooist and see if he can fix the damage you caused. I hope something can be done. Next time no scab picking!

been there done that! i have a tattoo on my right wrist. got it when i was only 17. now i'm 47. for the last 30 years i have been covering it up with a wristwatch. i am right handed, so i should be wearing my watch on my left wrist. more observant people ask me if i'm left handed. hmmm.... my advice to you is to try and let it heal according to the instructions you obtained @ the time you got the tat. if you hate it soooo much even after it is healed you can probably hide it with a watch or some other type of bracelet. good luck to you.

well. keep in mind that you can't ick a fresh tattoo. The ink is still fresh and where you pick it from will have no ink. Don't panic just get it touched up by a tatoo artist and then don't ppick it just put on some burts bees. it works great and it will help it heal faster. Good luck.

Ok let the docter look at it to make sure there is no infection then wait like 2 to 4 weeks to see if the ink wasn't taken out. If so then go back and get it touched up! if not then you should be fine!

Ok, so you shouldn't have picked it... now what? If it's completely healed, then you're gonna have to get it touched up. If it's not, you might have a chance. My tattoo artist told me when I got mine to put vaseline on it and wrap it in saran wrap. Yeah, the kind for left-overs. Since it's on your wrist, you can use an ace bandage to keep it in place. The vaseline will keep it moist so that it doesn't scab again. The one draw-back to this is that people might think that you tried to kill yourself!! : ) They'll get over it.

by picking the scab, you are going to scar it, your are going to have to have it done over in that spot. I had it happen to me and my boyfriend actually. That's why it is important to keep it lubricated, so no scabs can be ripped off =)
