1. go to the sink and rub some water on your lips
2. put some lip balm on it
3. SLOWLY wiggle your lip upwards off the brackets. if you bleed, no big deal, it wont be alot of blood... but still, be gentel to avoid bleeding
4. to avoid your lip catching on your brackets all the time, make sure you have them moisturized, and that they are not dry. the brackets usually catch onto dry skin on your lip.
5. if its really bad and you cant get it off, you should go to your dentist asap

I've had braces and I've had my lip smashed onto my teeth during hoops. Follow the earlier note on how to remove it and go to the drug store for the wax, most stores carry it where they have toothpaste etc. You don't chew the wax, you smear it over the front brackets. Chapstick will do in a pinch, but it doesn't last as long. You'll need to replace the wax periodically. If your lip is cut and sore, you can get something to numb it until it heals. Kanka is good. It stings for a minute, but seals the cut and numbs it.

Oh no...that happened to me when I had braces. I just waggled my tongue around the braces and over the lip. You might want to look in a mirror, though. If it's really bad, use the proxabrush (little pipecleaner brush) they gave you. If you get bleeding or a scab, apply that numbing stuff and some wax to your braces. Good luck!

OMG don't pull it off quick cause it will make them bleed. Slowly find the way they went in and slowly try to pull ur lip out. After your lip is out make sure you gargle with salt water just in case your lip is bleeding cause it will sterililze (sp?) it!!

Ask your orthodontist for those little wax strips. They will protect your lips.

if they are the metal kind the orthodontist has some wax type stuff to put on them to make them smooth.
