I suppose there could be an argument that they should do, but where does it end....excess weight can be said to be self inflicted, as can alcohol and drug induced problems...how about the problems from lack of exercise.
What about driving a car (and the accidents they cause), or extreme sports, even walking and falling, they are all self infliced or could be argued to be!

I smoke & do my best not to smoke around nonsmokers. I know there R rude or thoughtless people out there too. Smokers do pay more in health insurance. I don't but a lot do throw out the butt. Here that's a ticket including in public places. I keep a butt can in my truck. There is a sin tax on smokes & alcohol, so in a way we R paying more in taxes. The damage can't be undone. At this time we need 2 find a solution, not blame. I don't know in what other way a smoker can pay more than they do. Hope this gives U some thing 2 think about.
