That happens.
There's a lot of us on here that are using it for school like you,
or are just bored at work, like most of us,
But then you have your low life dead beats. Who get their ONLY human contact through Yahoo, and still live with their mommies at the age of 35.
And you wonder why they are sitting at home alobne, becasue their jerks and no one in life wants to be around them, and no one on the internet wants to be around them either.

Don't take it to hart. Because this type of message board offers people anonymity, the jerks seem to seep out of the wood and crawl from under the stairs. Just blow them off, the ones that aren't worth your time or effort, and ignore them.
As far as the spelling mistake... well, it is avoidable to a degree. There is a spell check option when you post and answer in here. It takes a short time to check everything to make sure it's all correct. But some people just like to point out the smallest little thing.

Blogs and Y!A are suffering from the same problem that big cities are.
As the amount of traffic increases, it becomes easier to be totally anonymous; it is easy to say something rude then slip away in the crowd.
Plus, free emails are easy to get. If somebody really offended you and you had them banned, they could just get a new email and log in again.
Like the old philosophical question:
If you could kill someone with the push of a button and no one would know it was you, would you do it?
A few immature "children" are screaming out "I would push ALL the buttons!"

Not all people by general r rude or judgemental.Maybe u hv come across wrong people.Next time when u meet anyone you think is rude and judgemental, you on yer part be polite and nice towards them. You will see the difference.I hope u unnerstand what I mean.U might hav heard a story, about the 'good man' and the 'bad man'.God asked the good man to find a bad man,and the bad man to find a good man. Both returned empty handed.Why?-cause for good man all were good and for bad man all were bad.

Oh sorry about that. Here is the short version of Yahoo Answers 101. There are people who come here to answer questions and try to help others. There are people here who have some form of agenda they are trying to push. There are people here that are just playing around trying to get a reaction from other people. It's a sick form of self entertainment. It is not only R&S section. The trolls seem to be everywhere. There will be insults, slurs, disrespect and the ocasional death thret but at least it is not boring. And yes, spelling is the universal opening insult along with any sterotype they can muster. Welcome to Yahoo Answers.

Some people open themselves up from criticism on this yahoo, but I could hardly understand why someone would make in fun of you for a typo unless you were calling someone illiterate or dumb and then here you are doing the same thing.
If someone says something cruel then respond back to them or respond to them publicly by adding to your question, just so people can see that you have addressed the ignorance. I most enjoy that part of cutting someone up due to their stupidity.

Because people are basically cowards. When I took my dreaded WASL test in high school I scored 85% in the state for spelling and even I make spelling errors on here. Don't worry about it.

You know there are other people that have been around this world longer than you my dear, so they have a right to be judgemental, because they know more than you. As far as your spelling mistakes -- lets look at it from this angle you are in school so you should be a good speller, enough said.

Because, on Yahoo Answers as in life, there are a LOT of insecure people. Many of them deal with their insecurity by nitpicking on the percieved faults of others, to deflect attention from their percieved shortcomings. Basically, they're picking on you because they feel weak and pathetic.

I've not seen your q's, so can't comment on those, but some ppl are just plain rude. Don't take it personally.
Edit: nothing wrong with your q's. Just ignore the daft answers, and report it if they're really extreme.
