If you're talking about in the programs, I would say something like "special thanks to __________" and leave it at that, they know what they're being thanked for. I don't think that you necessarily have to call them anything specific. If you want to reward them for what they're doing for you, you could have them sign as your witnesses, which is typically the role of the maid of honor and best man.

Are you sisters bridesmaids? If not, how would you be insulting your sisters? And if they are, why aren't you having your 2 g/f's as bridesmaids also? If they are close enough to help with the wedding details, they should be in your wedding party.

Attendants usually refers to members of your bridal party (i.e., bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, guest book attendants) so you can still refer to them that way if you'd like. Depending on their role, you could also refer to them as hostesses. I had two hostesses and two ushers for for my wedding. The hostesses helped out with some of the planning and basically helped out with whatever was needed on the day of the wedding (i.e., directing guests, overseeing the gift book, pinning flowers on family members, helping with gifts, helping direct guests to their tables at the reception). To show my appreciation for all they have done, I listed the names of my hostesses and ushers in our program along with the names of our attendants (bridesmaids and groomsmen), parents, and grandparents.

attendants would be okay, although that is just another word for bridesmaids. You do have to have witnesses... that's usually the maid of honour and the best man....

Yes, "attendant" is the proper term for them. I suppose you could call them something else, but that would just confuse people, and the point of naming their position of importance is really to clarify their standing. So call them attendants.

Why not call them, ummmmm, your sisters and your dear friends. You might put a quick note of thanks in the program or just be sure to mention all they have done at the shower, or during wedding announcements.... dedicate a dance to them at the wedding.
