There are a couple other tax changes congress passed late last year and the IRS is working the kinks out. Good luck and I hope you get your return soon.

I'm kind of in the same boat. I have always used H and R Block every year. For the last two years I have also used the simple pay service through HSBC. Every year I have always had my refund on time, the "where's my refund site says the money was deposited on the 9th. I called my bank on the 10th (saturday) and they told me they did not see the deposit yet. I had a deposit incoming for monday but not the refund deposit but another deposit for my wife's work. So basically HSBC must be sitting on it like another person said. I'm assuming they will have it out Monday or Tuesday for deposit with my bank. I'm not sure what the hold up is as they got it in on time last year I believe. I probably will not be using the HSBC service again through H and R Block and just do a straight deposit next year. By law I thought they were supposed to turn the money around the same day, but who knows. Hopefully, the IRS has not messed up on this batch of refunds, but my thoughts lead me to believe HSBC is just sitting on the money unil monday or tuesday. I really hope that it is not that case, like someone else mentioned that H and R Block gave incorrect banking information to HSBC, that would be very very bad imo.
Update: 2/12
I just got off the phone with HSBC, just an automated person, but it said there was a general (widespread) delay in receiving the funds from the IRS. However, it said our application had been approved and the money was to be deposited on the 9th but could take up to 2 business days before it shows up at the bank. I would imagine no later than Wednesday then.

It sounds like it will not show up in your account until Monday since it has to go through different channels---the HSBC Bank first and then yours. But, I agree with you that when the IRS says that they are doing a direct deposit that day, mine have always shown up that same day. I really don't think that after they gave you an actual date of deposit that they would have pulled your return for a review--especially if you did not get a code like others have received when they do do that. Can you call your bank and see if there is a deposit pending to your account? Because they will tell you that over the phone, even though it may not be showing up online. That's happened to me before. It's worth a call to find out.

I just wanted to let everyone know, also, that if you are using HR Block online tax service with direct deposit, to beware! They gave HSBC (the bank that deposits the money into your account) the wrong account number on mine and my boyfriends tax returns. I know it wasn't my error, because I ALWAYS double check my banking info just so there isn't any mistakes. My boyfriend and I don't use the same bank, either. I don't know what's going on, but this is ridiculous. I use HR Block every year, but probably won't next year, simply because of this. There is a phone number you can call to verify that they have the correct account number. It is:1-888-503-8361....Hope this helps someone.
