I have no opinion on the Bible being true of false. The "Gift of the Spirit" doen't even require that. The Bible actually recinded the whole thing about the gift of the spirit in the New Testement when it said that this would no longer be done "Lest othre men think you are mad."
The Bible and/or Christianity doesn' corner the market on this or any other concept.

It makes no difference whether your eyes are open or shut. The more good you do in the world, the more selfless help you give and the less you take the more ability is given to you to know spiritually with an awareness transfused as it were into you.
