Like others have said, I think most people no matter the religion are more afraid of the "way" they are going to die - cancer, accident, illness, whatever...that's what would scare me more. My grandpa, who is very dear to me, suffered with shingles and then the pain of the after-math for about 5 years. He was in constant pain and the only meds that would help either made him really sick or basically non-conherant, so he just suffered with the pain. He passed away last May which, though while hard to not have him around anymore, was a blessing. I know I will see him again and that he will be there to greet me when I pass on. I thought about how weird it is that I won't see him again, or hug him, or talk to him again for maybe 50 years...but I have great comfort in knowing that I will be with him and the rest of my wonderful family throughout eternity.
So no, I do not fear death, if a person truly understands our Heavenly Father's plan for us, they will know that death is a part of this life and that we will go on to bigger and better things. I read a quote that said "We cannot expect joyful reunions in the next life without having sorrowful goodbyes in this life."

I don't fear any sort of afterlife. I don't want to go through a painful death though. I do worry that I would miss the people on Earth still (family etc). I figure they'll be enough family in the afterlife though, that I'll be happy and content until the rest get there.

I don't fear death, but I would be worried and very sad if I wasn't prepared. Our time here on this earth is a time for us to prepare.
Obviously no one wants to suffer before they die, but I don't fear the actual death part, it's the judgement that comes after that I'm worried about.

Death by itself, no. The means of death, yes. That's all I have to say about that.

I still definitely fear how much pain and discomfort I might experience in the process of dying...yeah that's my biggest fear about it.

We believe that when we die, we go back to where we were before we came down to earth to be judged by Heavenly Father himself. We know that when we die, it isn't the end forever. We aren't really scared of dying and going back to him, we just are afraid of the pain we might receive getting there. If that doesn't answer your question or you want to know more. You can go to lds.org.
