Sex is a big deal, because in the end that is all it boils down to. People now-a-days see it as nothing i think because it has become so commercialized and now people don't think for themselves they are now going with the crowd.
People have loss all value to important things in life.
I don't think it is appalling to save ur virginity because i think it would be much better for u and that special person to share. It will be new and exciting and i believe it will ensure the relationship to last longer.

It's not stupid...it's respectful to wait. I waited til I was 18 and loved the guy I was with for 7 months. I kinda regreted it later cuz he was immature as hell and still is after 2 more trys 6 years later. I should have waited til the next guy I was with after him....he was my first true love.
I lost track of the importance of sex for a little while and became a person I hated. I realized not even a couple years later that I hated myself and I wanted to change back....and I have.
I've been celibate for 10 months since my last bf and don't plan on giving in to anyone until I'm in a relationship again and in love again. I feel innocent again...it's great.
It is important....regret sucks.

It's not appalling....and Sex is a big deal....the reason it seems like no one cares...is because those of us who are trying to save ourselves feel inadequate b/c we haven't done it yet...and the pressure to do it is greater today than the reasons to save it (because they are so distant and in the future not the here and now)
I am still a virgin..though recently my sexual life has come into existince....i want to save myself for marriage...and i don't want to have sex any time soon....but the pressure is there to do "something" so....i did...now i feel guilty .....
honestly its just this generation...that's why we're all gonna die of aids

I can not answer that question. Maybe if people started raising their kids with better MORALS they would understand exactly what it is they are doing. There is so much today that people don't think of the consequences on.There are way to many people in this world that have no respect for themselves let alone someone else it is sad. In my opinion every one should save their virginity for marriage,it didn't kill me ,my parents or my grandparents to wait.

I lost mine when I was 25. I am glad that I waited. I am now 39. I did loose one baby along the way but things happen. I am now ready to find someone and settle down and have that baby.
People these days rush into things. I think society makes us think that it is OK to give up something so precious.

I think that sex is a big deal....it changes what people think of you...and how others react to what you do...I am 15 and I still have my virginity and I am just fine with that and I plan on having it until i get married....I hate it when people say that its not a big deal...

Because people want to do whatever they want to do without having to feel guilty about it. If they can make others feel as they do, then they don't have to experience shame or guilt. To put down someone who wants to save themself for marriage is really saying to that person, "I don't respect myself or my partner to wait until marriage, but I want to keep on doing this without feeling guilty, so I am going to make you feel bad because you are trying to do what I am incapable of doing myself. By making you feel bad, I feel better about my poor choices". This is just my opinion. I totally have respect for people who want to abstain from sex before marriage. It is not easy to do, and they should be commended, not ridiculed.

It's not - I'm divorced so clearly I'm not waiting for marriage but my bf and I both agree that we need to get to know each other and care about each other before taking that step. I don't take sex lightly - never will.

i think saving yourself is a big deal... i wish i did. i guess sex is so open now that it doesn't matter if you have sex, as long as you have safe sex.
