i have a dell -optiplex270 with a wd-400 40-gig ide. harddrive the hard drive has been wiped clean, and i cannot get the operating software to install, when i try to install it the pc boots to set-up utilities, f-1 re-boot f-2 set-up utl. the diagnostic l.e.d.,s a.b.c.d on the rear panel show.s gggy 3-green and 1-yellow any help will be greatly apreciated.........THANK,S..........HENRY

i already have a windows xp- pro disc, this is a used computer, but the harddrive was wiped clean, and i cannot get the os to load.

If you have the CD you should be able to reinstall from it.

If your Windows operating system was "bundled" with your PC at purchase, you will have to contact Dell to see if they will allow you to download. Have all purchase information, purchase date, customer number, express code, whatever, handy before you make the contact. You must identify yourself.

There may be a way for you to purchase the CD. I say "may" because I have not tried this yet.
