Tramp stamp, hmmmm, so when your mom comes to the shop to get a lower BACK piece, she automatically becomes a tramp? Interesting.
The lower BACK piece is very hot to me. The amount of pain does change depending on if the artist is heavy handed or not. There is a degree of pain to any tat, however.

I have a tattoo on my lower back, and it definitely wasn't painless! First of all it depends what size the tattoo is ... the bigger it is the less painful it is. I find that the only time it hurts is the outline, and then it starts to lose the pain because it is getting numb ... i would say get on in the middle of yoUr back if it is something that is big enough ... and the only pain ur really gunna feel is the outline and by your spine ... Don't worry, if it starts to hurt just let them know and they will give you a minute to take a break ... you will be fine!

My suggestion would be mid-back... easier to keep concealed and less of a "tramp stamp" cliche. A tattooist can't make needles going into your skin painless, but they can help by suggesting areas that tend to be less painful. A *bad* tattooist will be heavy-handed and can end up not only making a tattoo more painful than it needs to be, but leaving you with scars.
It depends on the design, really... do you want something really small? Would you like more ink later on? You could still end up with a backpiece if you start out with a "tramp stamp" tattoo. I've known a lot of people who started out just wanting one tattoo and have "collected" to the point where they don't have much space left. ;)

It doesn't matter how good or bad the artist is at all when it comes to pain... It all depends on your tolerance and how comfortable they are willing to make you as a result. Some don't care and hack away... some take the time to help you relax and ease you into the process... Neither way makes the artist a better or worse tattooist.
Usually... The bigger your ti*ts and the nicer your as*s... The more attention and sympathy you'll get.
Remember this rule...
Less fat... more pain!
Close to bone... leave it alone, unless you like the pain...
You get what you pay for... Sit down, shut up and suffer through, or go somewhere else... where fast and cheap is the motto and the art is always horrible and lame.

Do the shoulder, the lower back is considered a tramp stamp. Tramp stamps can be cool if they're a little larger and less girlie, but if it's something like a daisy or a butterfly, please do the shoulder! My lower back didn't hurt at all and shoulder skin seems like it's also thick and tough...I bet you'll be ok either way.

i dont think any tattoo artists could make those painless but i have one on my lower back and i think that it is easy to hide or easy to show off whatever im feeling so i think that is an ideal space

Sorry to burst your bubble but a Tattoo on your shoulder blade is going to hurt a bit because its close to the bone. Take three ibuprofen before you go and it'll take the edge off.

never painless. I say lower back on one side or another, not in the middle. Lower back left side. More fat on the sides, hurts less

Please don't get the popular "Tramp Stamp", I have my tat on my right shoulder and it was painless, alittle uncomfortable at first but after it started it's ok,plus during the summer I wear alot of tank top's and am always complemented on it.
