I am looking for a quality multivitamin with high absorption rates. Do you know of any or a site that I can check out? Thank you!

Sugar free, yeast free would be ideal . I've geard that liquid or gelcaps are the best. What works for you?

If your multivitamin provides minerals, (most do) the important thing to look for is 'CHELATE'.

Your gut is not a sponge; it cannot just 'soak up' the nutrients you eat. (As well as the skins on sausages, animals' intestine linings are used to produce 'natural' condoms, BECAUSE THEY ARE IMPERMEABLE TO MOST THINGS!)

The most common form of mineral salt is as Carbonate (eg Magnesium Carbonate, a constituent of Chalk). This cannot be absorbed by the gut. If your tablets are taken with food, some of the magnesium salts will react with other substances, and become available, but not usually very much. This makes Magnesium Carbonate a poor source of dietary Magnesium.

Collection and transport of minerals is called 'chelation'. The 'courier' substances are mostly amino acids, and can be found in ordinary foods; getting them to mix effectively with other substances in the food is one reason why very thorough chewing is recommended by traditional dietary systems. Eating slowly also allows time for the chemical reaction between a mineral & its chelate, forming a compound that can pass through he gut wall.

Minerals included in your multivitamin in 'chelated' form will be more easily (and quickly) absorbed than simple salts are.

This needs to be taken into consideration if you are ever 'megadosing', because some minerals can cause problems if you manage to absorb too much.
