First of all you need to make an appointment with your doctor and a dietician. Be safe and do it the right way so it stays off forever!

The best, cheapest way to lose weight is to begin walking at least 30 minutes a day. All you need are comfortable shoes. You do not need any fancy kind of "walking sneakers". My neighbors walk every day no matter how cold, wet, or hot it is. Seriously, they never miss a day and have lost a ton of weight.

You also need to find out exactly what kind of foods to cut out of your daily routine. Ask a registered dietician. Cut out greasy foods, starches (like white bread and white rice, french fries!) Make 1 or 2 days a week your "treat" day where you reward yourself with a chocolate bar or some ice cream. Don't be hard on yourself if you "cheat".

Please try the walking routine. Don't do any crazy, fad diets. Just learn to exercise the 30 mins a day and watch what you eat. Also, do not fall for the "magic pills" that claim you will lose weight faster. A total rip off, when you can do it on your own. Your body does not need "help" from a pill. It needs the help from YOU. Good luck.

I've had luck with The South Beach Diet, but I have a hard time restricting my diet, I'm a very picky eater.

So, I cut out fast food and pop completely. I also cut portions. If I eat at a restaurant, I ask for a box when my meal comes and put half of it away. It keeps you from picking at your plate and over eating. And most importantly you need to do some physical activity. Even if you just start with a walk around the block, or up and down your stairs at home or at work a few times, build up your endurance....

Remember it doesn't happen overnight, but if you stick to it and make smart choices, it really doesn't take long to start dropping the pounds!

Good Luck!

Change your lifestyle and do this forever. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Of course, start out at your own comfort level and work up to an hour. Eat fruits & vegetables.

No alcohol
no bread
no burgers
No candy
No chips
no corn
no fried foods
No pasta
No pizza
No potatoes
No sodas
No sugar

Good Luck

Try some gentle exercises like push ups- kneel if you can't do proper ones. Just a regular routine of gentle exercise is sufficient to burn off calories and once you've developed a routine you can think about going onto something more strenuous like cycling or swimming.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
