You're going to need to do more research than you can get here. You should go to the Microsoft site. To get to the console, put your Windows XP disc in the drive, reboot and press a key to boot from the CD. Once it finishes loading you will be given to option to install or repair a previous installation. Choose repair with the console and when the console come up you can put /? and press enter to get a list of possible options you can use. Then you need to research to find out what options you should try based on the symptoms of your problem.

Good Luck!

Boot from your install Disk

At the menu that asks about installation select, Repair instalation (press R)

On the next screen select the installation to repair (usually only 1)

Enter the administrator Password

You Will then have a command prompt

Typing help will give you a list of commands.

If you let me know the problem I will try to help further

configure setup first boot to cd rom and insert xp disc and select repair from the setup menu on the disc instead of format hard drive and follow any prompts that may come up.

Hi Nick,
Does your XP give you the option to go set your computer back to a day/time when you were not having problems? Usually when my computer gets "into trouble" that's what I do.......just a suggestion!
