i'm in my early 20's with a bf and not engaged. basically a quarter of my friends are engaged and getting married at the age of 21-23. is it me or is that just too early an age to get married?

There is no "appropriate" age to get engaged, only an appropriate relationship. If you and your boyfriend are not at the stage where you feel this relationship is forever and you feel the need to make a longterm committment, continue as you are and only worry about your happiness and wish your friends the best of luck in their relationships. Your friends may be getting engaged just to be engaged - that doesn't make for a forever marriage. Your heart will tell you when the "appropriate" time is for you and your boyfriend to become engaged. Good luck and God Bless.

Don't feel pressured just because your friends are getting engaged and married and having kids. Do all of that when you feel you're at a point in your life where you want to have those kinds of responsibilities. You may not be ready for marriage yet because you feel you've got lots of stuff to do before you really "settle down." I'm 27 and just got engaged last year. My friends my age are not engaged. My two sisters are 32 and 34. The 32-year old just got engaged and the 34-year old got married last year. I have a friend at work who's 25 and got married when she was 19. It's really up to each individual person when is the right time for you.

If you're ready, not even 19 is too young. A few of my female friends got married that age.

It's a matter of personal opinion. You'r in your 20s, you shouldn't be affected that much by illusional 'peer pressure'.
The fact that you feel bothered about this, means you've not exactly matured enough to be ready to be engaged.
Get engaged when you feel its right.

it just depends on whether the relationship is stable enough and if both guy and girl are mature enough to move on the the marriage life. 20 and above should be fine...

Well 14 is too young and you wont be able to meet other guys maybe the perfect one. and late 20's is too late.
