because they are big flirts. i know a lot of guys that will have a girl friend and then a bunch of female friends that get a little to touchy. And they flirt back with them even if they have a girlfriend.

I'm going to assume that you ask this from the perspective of a girlfriend who is having a bit of a problem with the close female friends of her male partner?
I too can get a bit jealous of female friends, and yet I find that I have a lot of close bonds with my own male friends... It's not a black and white area. I enjoy my female friends, but I find I enjoy my male friends more. I'm a football fan, a gamer and a geek... that doesn't always connect well with my female social circle.
Males relate to others differently than females do, and it's entirely possible that these other women in your male partner's social circle are just "one of the guys" to him. People he'd no more consider as female and attractive than he would consider the goal post to be attractive.
If you feel insecure about a particular person, talk to your partner about her. Make sure that he knows how you feel, and give him a chance to work through the insecurity/jealousy with you.
People can be possessive, whether friends or partners. Everything is good in moderation, I suppose. Key to this sort of thing is not to become overly possessive or attempt to control your partner. Look to work together to get past the issue.

Probably for the same reason that females have male friends that are "too" close--many people have a lot of love & affection to give. It doesn't mean they're not loyal to their mates.

I have girls that are friends because I respect them and enjoy their company. It is possible to have a platonic relationship with the opposite sex. Plus, they are great at pointing out which girls are wrong for you and which ones are right. They are a sixth sense about these things.

they are not ready to commit to you and they are trying to have a back up plan just in case and who knows they want their cake and eat it too. so just dump him and move on to some one who will respect you and will leave the female friends at home and if they cared for him and are true friends they would back off and let you have your time. i have guy friends and when they get a girl i back off and i don't call and i don't hang around I'm a female and i wouldn't want another female hanging around, so put your self in others shoes and make sure if you have a male friend you back off him when he has his girl around. and visa versa...

hmm.. i have lots of guyfriends too and i can say that i am really close to them. i'm close with them because i find them nice, friendly and all of us enjoy each other's company. they even help me whenever i'm down. there are some things that i can't tell to my girlfriends that i can openly share with my guyfriends. my boyfriend understands me as well as i understand him.
besides, making friends and getting close with them doesn't mean that you're up to something. we need to socialize you know.
AND not because they're boys, we expect them to be with just their guyfriends like us, girls with our girlfriends.

I think that it is because they like to make the girls that they like jealous. Or maybe it's to show off to their friends that they can have a girl as a friend..or a girlfriend..but i'm really not sure. It also annoys me!!!!! =]

it can b 4 2 different reasons.
1. to be able to thalk to them about their gf and ask them 4 advise on what to do or what kind of present they should get them.
2. they wanna f**k them too.
