Should I not be talking? now I know the dr says don't rinse, but does that mean don't drink too.

Well it is 6pm and I am woke from a mini nap, damn my mouth still hurts just took another tylenol. put gauze back on cause its still bleeding. I checked webmd that helped alot. It seems it was necessary to take the day off. I work with DD clients and if I was there with a bleeding mouth in front of them some of them wouldn't handle that well (thats for the lady who commented). I have two options for the tooth that has grown in the gums (yes im 26 and got a baby tooth pulled), well they can extract it or it can be pulled down into the space. Has anyone had that process done?

You really should only have to leave the gauze on for about 10 minutes. If the bleeding persists, swap out the gauze for a moistened tea bag. The tannic acid in the tea is a natural blood constrictor and will stop the bleeding. If it is REALLY bleeding and doesn't stop after the teabag treatment, your dentist may be able to insert a clotting agent for you. You are probably experiencing some discomfort as the freezing comes out but, unless it was a really complicated extraction, you should be feeling better soon. If you need to, just take some Advil or something. Ibuprofen works as an anti-inflammatory as well. Just don't take Aspirin (asa - acetylsalicylic acid) as it is a blood thinner.

You should leave the gauze in intill it seems to have stopped bleeding or change it if it gets soaked with blood. It depends on each tooth as to how long the bleeding will last. If it is bleeding quite a bit bite down on the gauze to put pressure on it. You can drink but since you still have the gauze in your mouth it would be better to use a straw. You also should not have a lot of pain as the tooth is gone but use naproxen or iburprofen for the pain unless the doc prescribed something. I am surprised you felt you needed the day off as pulling a tooth is relatively common thing and not much concern these days. Good Luck. My son had two teeth pulled a couple weeks ago just about this same time of day and was ready to go out to lunch and chowed down a chicken tenders meal. Each person is different though.

I had two teeth pulled at once. it really hurt after the first hr once the meds stopped working. 1) if you smoke don't do it until it heals, will get dry socket and that really really hurts. What I did, was just put the gauze in and went to sleep. woke up couple hrs later and the bleeding had stopped and the pain was gone.

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I remember it hurt for at least two or three days. I had to take prescribed pain medication the first couple of days.

I think it was okay to drink water, as long as you don't rinse.

I ate soft foods for that week.

take the pills now. change the gauze as your dentist directed, or call and ask them what they want you to do.
