In the Daily mail today there is astory of child cruelty which makes me wish we had the Death penalty reinstated. A young 4 year old girl who suffered with Cerebal Palsy was subjected to such cruelty by her own parents as I have never read before. over a period of time, they broke her arm for which the child needed 7 operations, They ripped her hair from her scalp and took skin from her scalp doing this. They forced her hands under a hot tap and scalded her hands red eaw. They repeatedly kicked her on the floor as you would kick a football. During this, there were 13 home visits from Social Services and 2 Health care appointments, but nothing was reported. The last visit was on the insistance of the grandmother when the child was rushed to Hospital where she died. Strange as it may seem, no one in the Social Services is to blame as usual. No one will take responsibility for this childs death. The parents got 10 years each. I would have hung them myself.

Hanging would be too quick...something slow and incredibly painful would be better. I cant believe they only had 10 yrs!! You get 25yrs for Armed Robbery!! In today's society, criminals often have more rights than the victims...I think it should go back to the book.. 'an eye for an eye'..Let politicians stick their political correctness up their a rs es...Political correctness is just tyranny with manners!!
Just remember the politicians motto- 'Justice does not need to be done - as long as it appears to be done'

I also felt shocked and disgusted by this story!
Too often the rights and welfare of the children in these situations are not met properly.
In the UN Convention on the rights of The Child there are two very contradicting statements regarding childrens rights.
One is that "The welfare of the child is paramount".
and the other is "Parents have the right to bring up their children".
Too often the second statement is what social workers seem to be aiming towards. Children MUST be better protected than this.
And as a society, I feel we should be making our voices heard that we expect better!
As for the laughable prison sentences that they received...... even a slow painful death would be too good for them!
Have a look at the following link - I recently studyed it at college and found it extremely interesting!
www.children1st.org.uk and have a look at "factsheet 3" (The UN Convention On The Rights of The Child)

This was awful I think she is still alive butis scarred for lifeand unable to work. This should not happen social services were supposed to up investigation since the death of Victoria Climbe several years ago. I think they too should be subjected to torture and Endure exactly what they did and more. Another tabloid reports the mother is pregnant, although she will have the child removed instantly I hope she is not allowed drugs or assistance throughout delivery, and suffers immensley. And I hope some sees fit to torture him while he's inside pure evil to the highest degree, and so upsetting when there are so many childless couples out there unable to concieve who could provide a loving secure home.

No, I haven't heard that one but that is terrible. Our local news has been focusing on a 4 year old girl who died from an overdose of Clonidine. She was diagnosed at 2 for ADHD and Bi-polar and prescribed the Clonidine on an 'as needed' basis. What were these parents and professionals thinking? Social Services is in the hot seat for this one because it was one of their psychiatrists that prescribed it.

I have seen so many stories, and I have never been so saddened and aggravated and maddened by them, as I have since I had my own child. I can't even begin to imagine (nor would I want to try) the things being done to my child as others have done to theirs. I've read about a mother dropping her baby into a body of water, left to drown, a guy putting a baby in the freezer to help with fever, and a guy putting toddlers in the dryer as punishment for wetting their pants. It really is disgusting, and I myself feel bad enough when I get frustrated with my daughter. I could never ever in a million years doing anything to her that would cause harm. It's really scary that these things actually happen, and that it's happening to kids who can't do anything to defend themselves against it. Makes me want to stay away from the news.

the worst part is that those parents will probably get out of prison years earlier on account of good behavior. there was a case a long time ago about a 2 year old that was raped and killed. his killer was sentenced to 30 years in prison. but because he "behaved" and some other BS he was released after 6 years. where's the justice? it really sucks that there are couples who deserve kids and can't have them and then there are parents who should've been born sterile but have many children they don't want instead.

I feel really sick every time i think about it
How can people hurt children they are so precious
That child must have looked into her parents eyes and yet they still did appalling things to her
I just hope she will get all the love that child deserves and more
I and a million other`s would love to get our hands on the parents and see them squirm

poor girl i read in papers today that the mother is expecting again in prison and they are going to take the child away as soon as its born. poor kid to grow up in care or being addopted and finding out what your mother is really like she should have been sterilised and so should he as soon as the child was taken away. i dont know weather the death penelty is a good idea it offers no suffering for the parents as that girl must of suffered.
i have 2 kids and hate to think anything like that could happen to any child.
what sort of people could do that to children?

That is so sad!! I wonder why the grandmother never tried to get custody? Those parents deserve much more than ten years. I wonder if the other inmates in jail are going to treat them like they treated their daughter? That judge and the attorneys should have come together and given them life without the possibility of parole. I just pray that God has mercy upon their souls....

People are cruel to children, I had CNN on yesterday and I saw where a man had beat his toddler because she woke up in the middle of the night and threw her outside in the snow. She had gotten up and wandered around leaving little footprints in the snow, she died! All I could picture all day were those little footprints. Its so sad that people don't cherish their children. I think they should have done to them what they did to their child.
