Catholics do NOT "worship" Mary. We honor her as the mother of Jesus, and we ask her prayers, just as we ask any other member of the Body of Christ to pray for us. She is a member of the Communion of Saints in Heaven, and she intercedes for us before God.
Asking someone for their prayers hardly constitutes worship -- much less idolatry.

Depends on what you mean by "worship"--if the act elevates Mary to the level or near the level of God, then yes, I would say so. For example, the notion that one prays to Mary is fundamentally disturbing (prayer is communication with the Lord, not Saintly dead people). It is especially disturbing to me to think that Mary can somehow give you special input to God (prayers to Mary or other Saints to intercede on your behalf) when Jesus himself is the only Intercessor you need.
But, it really doesn't matter to me if others choose that path. While I think it is a misplaced idea, I don't think it really matters to the Lord, as it is more a matter of tradition than stricit religious doctrine. While I don't know the mind of God, it doesn't seem to be in character for the Jesus I know to be overly concerned about such a thing.

Yes. Anything that is worshipped besides ALLAH is a form of idolatry.

Yes! Nowhere in the Bible are we told to worship Mary. Only God. God chose Mary for a special purpose but not to be worshipped! God wants 100% of our hearts to worship Him alone.

Yep, it is actually worship of the ancient mother goddess. Did you know that Catholic churches are built to represent the mothers womb? Most of them are domes and round. Above the doorway there is a round window which represents a part of the female anatomy. The two doors represent the vagina. When you walk through the door you will see a bowl filled with water which represents the water in the mothers womb. This is what you bless yourself with. In essence when you visit a Catholic church you are entering into the mother goddesses womb. This is true and if you study the origins of the early pagan church you will realize the rituals are still in practice today.

Yes, and as a Catholic I would encourage those of other religions who may worship Mary to become a member of the Catholic Church...where we worship only God.

No one worships Mary. We respect Mary, we hold her in honor, but we do not worship her. Get your facts straight.

no more so than the worship of any image or symbol. you worship a god/man named Jesus you're just as much an idol worshiper as the those who worship the man/god Krishna.
methinks you don't so much object to idol worship as you object to the worship of idols of which you don't approve.

Yes, that's why Martin Luther and his followers, wanted to change the Catholic religion. Praying to saints, and kissing a pope's ring were not what The Ten Commandments say...
