Call the IRS and inquire

Your return might be reviewed for errors, earned income credit, or a variety of other issues, the refund should be sent out within 2 to 4 weeks as long as the return has no issues. If you owe a balance for a previous year the amount you owe will be taken from your refund and any over the amount you owe would be refunded to you

I'm in the same boat. I have always used H and R Block every year. For the last two years I have also used the simple pay service through HSBC. Every year I have always had my refund on time, the "where's my refund site says the money was deposited on the 9th. I called my bank on the 10th (saturday) and they told me they did not see the deposit yet. I had a deposit incoming for monday but not the refund deposit but another deposit for my wife's work. So basically HSBC must be sitting on it like another person said. I'm assuming they will have it out Monday or Tuesday for deposit with my bank. I'm not sure what the hold up is as they got it in on time last year I believe. I probably will not be using the HSBC service again through H and R Block and just do a straight deposit next year. By law I thought they were supposed to turn the money around the same day, but who knows. Hopefully, the IRS has not messed up on this batch of refunds, but my thoughts lead me to believe HSBC is just sitting on the money unil monday or tuesday. I really hope that it is not that case, like someone else mentioned that H and R Block gave incorrect banking information to HSBC, that would be very very bad imo. I assume though that I'm in the same boat as the poster above. It probably took longer than expected to get to HSBC, so hopefully Monday or Tuesday it will be going in.
Update 2/12;
I just got off the phone with HSBC, just an automated person, but it said there was a general (widespread) delay in receiving the funds from the IRS. However, it said our application had been approved and the money was to be deposited on the 9th but could take up to 2 business days before it shows up at the bank. I would imagine no later than Wednesday then. Call the number given above to see about yours; 1-800-365-0233

I am having the same problem. My taxes were held up due to an offset ( !!!!! ) But the IRS said there wouldn't be a delay. I keep checking the site , sure thing IRS reports that my refund was direct deposited on Feb 9th... Oh yeah? Not in my bank account. On the 10th, H&R Block send me an email stating that my money is on its way, it should take 2 business days. I paid the fees from my refund, thinking it was more convenient... NOT! H&R Block is AWFUL. I have used Turbo Tax, Tax Slayer, etc... They are all great, never had a problem. In all instances, my money was there early ! Now, we are all in this situation with H&R Block. I wouldn't be surprised if HSBC is sitting on the money to show more assets. Advice: Never use H&R Block again!

I also was supposed to receive my federal refund on Feb. 9. I called the HSBC Bank that Jackson Hewitt tax service uses and was told that there was a delay in receiving the refunds from the IRS. But HSBC did receive my refund and now it will take at least 2 business days for it to finally be posted to my bank account. Keep this number handy 1-800-365-0233. This is the HSBC Bank USA, taxpayer support number. Good Luck!!! You're not alone

Well I'm still waiting on mine... all i did was file 1040 and took out the deductions for the tuition I paid for school. Mine said it was direct deposited 1/26 and check w/bank... nothing with bank.... found out this was due to IRS glitch and congress not getting credits back on books quickly enough... This info didnt come from the IRS but my searching online... and a letter from the school saying if you haven't filed yet don't until after feb 3rd... refunds are direct deposited on fridays so.. guess I have another week to wait... LOL glad I paid the extra $20 to e-file sure made a time difference.. unreal... anyways.. the now have info on the IRS site.. under news... and a few other sites online.. I had your same question oooooh about a month ago...IRS was no help told me 4 differnt things.... and funny thing... is my friend who did my taxes on tax cut also took out the school credits.. she did hers.. 1/27 and got her money today... so they are not doing it .. 1st come ..1st serve... my taxes were accepted 1/15 by IRS.... there are 3 ( a trio ) things (deductins) that congress didnt have back on the books in time that caused the delays this year..

Good luck...I've been waiting for mine since 1/26.
Apparantly, this year if you claim EIC, they will show that they made the deposit, swear that it was deposited, and then a week later tell you that there is a delay in processing. Some will say it's a computer glitch, others will say that 72,000 refunds claiming the EIC are being held for additional review. No one will give you a straight answer and the only way you will know is by not recieving your refund. The status on their site won't change until next week and then you will probally get a code 1121.....
It's very frustrating and I do hope that you receive yours!!

I just wanted to let everyone know, also, that if you are using HR Block online tax service with direct deposit, to beware! They gave HSBC (the bank that deposits the money into your account) the wrong account number on mine and my boyfriends tax returns. I know it wasn't my error, because I ALWAYS double check my banking info just so there isn't any mistakes. My boyfriend and I don't use the same bank, either. I don't know what's going on, but this is ridiculous. I use HR Block every year, but probably won't next year, simply because of this. There is a phone number you can call to verify that they have the correct account number. It is:1-888-503-8361....Hope this helps someone.

If you have taken a Refund Anticipation Loan or have elected to have H & R Block's fees taken from your refund, it is going to take a couple of more days. Look at the account number on the second page of the 1040. Is it yours? If not, that is the reason for the hold-up.
EDIT: OK I see a pattern here. How many of you have a claim for a deduction or credit that got extended in December (tuition credits and sales tax for instance)? If that is you, and you filed your return before February 3rd, it cannot be processed until then. From some of the comments, that affects at least some of you. In that case, I would not expect a refund before Friday 16th February.

I'm having the same problem too. The IRS said my refund would be deposited Feb 9th---And nothing as of today. We used taxact.com, so it's not just H R Block messing with people. Yes, we claimed the EIC, but we did that last year too. Also used taxact.com last year too. Basically NOTHING changed since last year, except for this glitch. But at least now I know it's not my bank-it's the IRS.

Pretty much the same thing Riannaa said. I am in the same shoes as her and i'm sorry but it looks like you guys are too. I would keep checking with your bank til around mon/tues and if it's not in there more than likely by Wed you'll be getting reference code 1121 on www.irs.gov where is my refund. Do not listen to any specific dates that they give you when you call and try not to get your heart set on a day or you will get dissapointed.
Good luck I surely hope thats not the case for you guys but just know you're not alone!!
