bettierrag,
The Holy Bible is referred to in the Quaran as the "Book" and people who follow it, "People of the Book" that is what the Holy Bible has to with it!
O'kay?

I am inclined to believe that eating pork in arabic semitic land was not good for local "geographical" reasons, as the climate was too hot out there for that kind of meat. This was then inscribed as a holy universal precept in the holy rules of jewishry and mohammedanism, if we may say so.
Good old huge Buddha is reported to have died a thousand years before Mohammed and at the age of eighty years, which may have been very high at those times, because of an indigestion for having eaten too much pork meat. This may make us conclude that he would not be too popular with the Jews and the Moslems. But Asian people, for instance the Chinese, happily eat pork meat. In fact for the Chinese our current year is "the year of the pig", of the "golden pig", or something like that.
I have even read somewhere (I am unable to quote where) that doctors have found out and declared that pork meat is particularly good and healthy for old people, for aging persons.

Judging by technique of your use of quotations round "unclean" etc., you all seem especially indignant by technique of the particular shown actuality that pigs are not the cleanest of animals. that's not about their habitat, in the different case we does not be eating cows both. seem on the technological information in the back of it; be extra recommended and dig up the rational, logical fringe of issues. No-one said the perfect well being advantages of beef--there are especially a lot none. beef is in basic terms fat and high blood pressure construction sh*t. Pigs do not sweat and characteristic no lymphatic gadget, for this reason they don't expel toxins interior of an same way different animals do. this isn't a situation for the pig because they are genetically predisposed, yet once we devour beef, we are immediately taking in those toxins so even eating organic and organic beef received't make a large difference interior the toxicity element because their anatomy hasn't replaced. whatever the way badly you want to devour beef, NO health/well being professional will agree that beef interior the load-help plan is nice, because except you're o.k. with high blood pressure and pounds of grotesque and undesirable fat on your body and prefer to be extra at chance of strokes, that's not.

Pig is a metaphor meaning ignorance like the rooster(c*ck) means lust. The ignorance here is spiritual ignorance. It's not to be taken literally.
ALSO:
The original ritual was to eat pork only once a year as sacrament. In fact all the 'so called' dirty animals in the Torah were at one time or another sacred animals. One meaning behind this ritual was to recognize the spirit within the animal is the same within all life; hence, animals were sacrificed so God would be content with the spirit of the animal and spare a human spirit.

Man can't live on bread alone, but with the Word of God/YHWH. Meaning without His Set Apart Spirit we are lost, and have become feed for the wolves. We are not to eat from the bottom of the food chain. "Jesus" removed an evil spirit from Legion, and told the demon to come out. The demon pleaded with Him and asked to be put in the pigs vessel, so it was done. Also, Acts: 10:9-12 Peter's vision, where He was told "everything that G_d created is good to eat" He didn't. This procedure was repeated 3 times and 3 times He refused. Evidently, this shows to prove that Satan gives us dreams, and Peter's faith never swayed.

I too believe that all God-given food can be good if properly prepared but, I would not make a big deal out of it. Incidentally, the Jews do not eat pork either and the Prophet copied Mosaïc laws on pork.
May I tell you a joke :- a Catholic priest and a Rabbi were discussing their respective religions.
The priest admitted he had taken a vow of chastity but out of curiosity tried a woman !
The rabbi replied that also he out of curiosity had tried ham !
Whereupon the priest exclaimed, better than ham isn'i it ?

Actually, it's not that muslims can't eat pork. They choose not to.
It is written in the Holy Quaran that muslims should not partake in the filth of the pig.If there was nothing else to eat and starvation
was key factor, than eat what's left in order not to starve.

more ribs for me
I just read many of the posts and have got to chime in. I could give a flying rats a&& if they don't want to eat pork. Like I said; more for me. I'm in Louisiana and I LOVE it. I have a few Muslim friends and they explained the whole "dirty animal/ no sweat glands" reasoning to me. Fine-whatever floats ur boat. WHAT I DON'T GET is that they will eat chicken. Have you ever been to a coop or just been around chickens(or a cattle ranch for that matter)? That is the nastiest animal in the universe(and I'm from Louisiana-I'll eat ANYTHING-yes chick. too). There hasn't been a case of trichinosis(from pork) in like 50 years. Salmonella(chicken)?-every day. I'm not judging-I just don't quite understand. Whatever they want to do is fine-I just don't "get it".

If muhammad smelled bacon back then he would have changed his mind like he did so many times and he would come with an excuse like he always did and let people eat the dumb pork. If people think pork is filthy b/c they they eat their waste well chickens do same thing. Pork is the other white meat.

No, Muslims don't eat pork, because pigs roll around in their own poo and there fore they are referred to as "swine". It is written in the Koran, a book that was written before the bible and has never been edited.
Not to be the party pooper, but wouldn't we all be better off if we stopped slinging biblical-quotes, or any religious quotes for that matter, as psychological hand grenades at each other in search of some feeling of supremacy!
Couldn't we focus on our similarities.
We are not at war with Muslims!
We are at war with Extremist Terrorists who loath our entire way of being. They hate our freedoms and our ignorance.

Why would you eat pig? It eats S.H.I.T. and garabage, lays in the mud all day, has no neck so you can't kill it, carries tons of diseases in it's blood, is the most dirty, filthiest animal on Earth, has a lot of fat on it which also makes it unhealthy, and is not good for you at all. Also Jews don't eat pork either.
