i own a shop, and had looked at one of these to buy,to me its sort of a mix between a wagon and a car,it has plenty of room in it,though, and drove really well, but id have to call it a half breed, because for me it would have been used both ways, you might look at it,and see it more as a wagon than car, everyone has mixed opinions on this one, good luck,i hope this help,s.

My take it is a smaller version of the Dodge Magnum Wagon. It does not fall into the category of SUV as that goes to the New Dodge Nitro or Chrysler Aspen. Some writers and people are calling it a cross-over vehicle which it could fall into if you go for the AWD version.
I really like the looks of the SRT-4 version that has hit showrooms already or later this year. The SRT-4 could be placed into the tuner wagon category with it's 300HP.
My take Small Wagon!

Wagon (a car with a covered cargo bay). It falls into the same category as the Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe, PT Cruiser (no, it is NOT an SUV), and the Chevy HHR. Some people bill these as crossovers because it's supposedly a mix of car + SUV...I think. In reality they are wagons but for some reason people are resistant to calling them that. ...and I've seen/heard (don't remember where) the Caliber referred to as the SUV for people who hate SUVs.
