From my vast experience in dealing with guys (lol), it's probably one of three possibilities:
1) He doesn't like you. I know that sounds harsh, but it could be true. Boys (especially shy boys) tend to avoid situations they see as problematic, so he may be avoiding you to avoid telling you how he really feels.
2) He likes you, but he's shy. Even if a boy is attracted to a girl, he may not say so because he feels bashful or is cautious about beginning a relationship.
3) You're imagining his avoidance. Sometimes a guy will do things without thinking about how the girl who is watching them will react. Maybe he's just been busy.
In any case, the best thing you can do at this point is back off and don't worry about it. If he's not interested in you, then he's really not worth your time. You cannot make someone like you, and if you do try, you may push them further away.
On the other hand, if he does like you, you need to give him space to make up his mind. If he really does like you, he will appear back into your life. Then you can slowly first become his friend, then slowly introduce the idea of having a deeper relationship. Be careful not to scare him away. Good luck! :)

The guy is embarrassed that his secret affection toward you came out. When he was just able to fantasize about being with you there was no pressure, no awkwardness, no reason to think about his confidence or lack of it.
Now he has to say something or the opportunity is lost, and he knows that. He knows that you're expecting something from him, so the pressure is on, he knows he's going to feel awkward and probably doesn't know what to say, how to get past the fact that you know he's interested. This makes him think about himself and brings up the self doubt we all have. Some people can plow right through it, but it's hard for a lot.
If you are interested in him, break the ice for him. If you can't get to him because he avoids you send someone to tell him you need to talk to him about something. If he has to work up the courage to ask you out, he may never do it. So ask him out.

Its just classic boy meets girl, boy sees that girl like him, and runs...that's just life. Its the way stuff happens. He's not going to run towards you, he's going to run away - at first. He wants to see what you're going to do. Call him, if you want, or have one of your friends call him...He's actually not avoiding you, he's interested and waiting to see how you'll react.

Sounds like you are talking about boys because us men don't do that.So my advise to you is to start dealing with men and let the little boys play with them selves.
