You're not fully connected to LimeWire until you see light-blue bars at the bottom of the screen that say, "Turbo-Chaged", that's when it's ready to download stuff. Also, go into your options and re-check your settings, you may have something configured wrong. Or, it may be that you haven't allowed access to and from the net through your firewall, it could be blocking the program. Make sure that it is allowed access.

Yes, I think you've gotta wait til you get a few green bars on the bottom left of the screen, so that it has connected to the network. The bar will go across and it may seem liek it is searching but it's best to wait until you are fully connected to the network before searching.

Sorry to put aside your actual question...Listen..
My Dear Friend,
First of all, Limewire is Hard Spyware. It will demolish your entire computer system and throw all your personal information on share...I request you NOT TO USE LIMEWIRE AT ALL.
Better to use Bit-torrent software or more better buy a affordable CD/DVD.
Take care of your computer more...It will take care of you in coming days.
Expecting Success...Always.

Sounds as if your limewire isn't actually connected to the internet. 1st thing you might want to try is to Check your Firewall settings. (( It's possible your firewall is blocking all communications with limewire )) Only other thing I can suggest is to reinstall Limewire.

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.
