This girl has been only a chat/text buddy for 6 years and has made it relatively clear she's not coming back. How do I make him figure this out. He is missing out on so much by waiting for a dream that isn't going to come true. Is it possible he will never let someone else into his heart? I have deep feelings for him and wish him the best but would like to have a chance to find out if WE could make it! We openly talk about it since I am a "friend" and it hurts me as much as him. He can't let go! Any advice?

I don't want to make him forget her. That doesn't happen for anyone. We are not kids, but in our 30's and I adore every moment I spend with him.

No matter what you do, he will not forget about that girl. I think that he will always have some feelings for this girl. However, what you need to do is not try to get rid of his memories with her, but try to create new memories with him that he will cherish. I think that what he's holding onto with this girl is hope, and that's all he has left with her. If you show him something new, something that he can have more hope for, then he will fill that hope that he's had with the other girl with new hope with you.

don't get with him if he can't let go. but talk to him and tell him that even though it's over with them he could have a relationship with someone else that will end up being better in the long run.

If he can't let it go, then you have to let him go, dont you think you waste your time for him?

Be yourself and tell him the truth if you really want him so bad. Make him WAKE UP and realize how much he missed something.

If he hasn't let it go for this long, he won't ever. If you do get with him, believe me you will hear of her often. Not a good idea!
