Program to erase HD without any recovering...?

Question

Ok, I got a used computer from a friend a while back, I know he liked adult site etc. So I wan't to play it safe and erase this Hard Drive completely of everything without anybody ever being able to recover anything from it again, is there any free program out there that will do this. What about Seagate Drive Utility CD That writes zeroes to the drive, will that do it?
