More violence is due to love and/or god than any other cause. People can't agree on the defintion of god, nor can they agree on the definition of love. There is no proof of god or love. Neither is tangible and neither can be scientifically proven to exist. The so-called effects of love and god are simply matters of opinion.

<<>> No.

<<>> Is this a true statement? How about greed, envy, coveting, hate?

<<>> Actually, lots of people agree on the definitions of God and love.

<<>> The evidence manifested of God and love is all the proof one needs to be convinced.

. <<>>
Not true, both can be scientifically proven much the same as gravity, electricity, air and wind.

<<>> Well, not sure where you are coming from; Do you mean the positive effects of love based assistance to those in need may be a negative in your eyes? Do you mean the marital bliss brought on by years of mutual love is a negative in your eyes?

In one regard you are partially correct. An individuals perception is reality to that person, but just because they think that doing good is a negative does not make it true, other than to them self.

Go in peace and good luck in your philosophy class.

One who is in the grip of Satan cannot know either of those.

Science is not God. Just because something hasn't been scientifically proven, it hardly means it doesn't exist. Any good scientist will be the first to admit this. There was a time when science had proved nothing - does this mean that nothing existed then?

Stop following the false idol of science, and follow God instead. If you can.

If you can't scientfically prove that something exists, that doesn't mean it ceases to exist. Many things in life are based on thoughts and emotiions rather than concrete objects. If I am angry at someone and you tell me to physically show an object called anger, I can not do it. But I am still angry. Anger, like love and god, is a concept that can not be proven with "scientific" analysis.

There is no proof of love? WOW you must have a really really empty life...Have you never felt it? Even if it is just the love of asking dumb as* questions like this. All emotions are proved. All you have to do is be human and feel.

As a sideline...they havent been able to prove global warming scientifically...does that mean it doesnt exist?
All I can do is laugh at people that are so dumb.

You have a good point... I have felt Love, and know what that is, different kinds of Love. Love for a parent or spouse or sibling all very different thou I would say all are very real.

On the God issue, some say they feel the higher power and they believe that is God, I have never felt that... I have been amazed at the wonders of nature some say that is God at work. I tend to believe it is just nature at work, no higher power is at work.

I would say Love is there not a misconception, it may be hard to understand but it is real. On God, it has to do with faith some have it, others do not. I believe its 2 very different concepts

No. Children are, we as parents and grown ups forget that children are really people in very small packages. They see the world totally different than you or I.

From your question it appears to me that you don't believe in God or missed the shift when you should have put a capital letter for God. I believe in God, but you are right that I have to accept God on faith.

As for Love, it isn't opinion when I see a baby sucking mama's breast. It is love.

You ask opinion about Love, well,......I have been married for 41 years and I would tell you that my spouse is the other part of me or should I say the completion of me. She makes me feel like I like being me and she being her. It is respect, sharing, giving, taken, considering and being considered, valued, cherished. she has cancer and if I could I would gladly die for her,.....that isn't an opinion, but is fact

If you believe something whether god or love or anything and if you want to realize the same, be firm in your belief. For many believers Love is god is mythology as they are able to realize some super natural power in that. But as per my concept I will say your belief will make you realize a super natuarl resource might be god or love or anything.

Love is an emotional response to seeing ones highest values materialize. God is a response of fear. But what is in-congruent is the natural honest values a person has (their life "selfishness") and the unnatural values a person wants others to think they have (other peoples life "altruism"). This creates major internal conflict which causes one to be ones' own worst enemy, (self sacrifice) which causes FEAR of ones own actions, which causes the need to someone ore something to step in and control them for them. Ie. God comes to the rescue! Ta Da~

If love doesn't exist then hate doesn't either. If good doesn't exist then bad doesn't either. Hate isn't tangible but we know it exists, just like love. Sadness isn't tangible, are you saying that doesn't exist either?? Happiness?? We "know" about many things we can't put under a microscope, that makes them no less real.
