Potato chips are awesome, but NOTHING is better than chocolate!

First of all, to all the Americans reading this, Chips in the UK (England, the British Isles) ARE NOT POTATO CHIPS IN A BAG!!! Those are called Crisps.........Chips in England are fried potatoes, kinda like French Fries, but just slices of potato sauteed in butter, salt and pepper......Hence the name for fried fish and fried potatoes, are Fish & Chips........Now that we're on the same page, I agree, even we Americans love our potatoes, and the million or so ways to serve them.......Hell, we even have an entire STATE that is dedicated to potatoes (Idaho, home of the famous Russet potato)

Well the grandchildren always ask for my chips, The secret is to use Maris Piper spuds. cut into 15mm square and as long as the spud. put into hot beef dripping at around 170degC to cook, lift a chip and squeeze to check softness. then turn up to 190degC until golden in colour. I do add salt and malt vinegar as temperature is rising to 190degC. BUT only if you have A LID THAT FITS WITH air escape. Otherwise it is very dangerous to add liquid to fat oil or dripping. Best to leave deep frying to an adult or a competent teenager. please be safe.

I love them alone and also with melted cheese.Yes I definately do agree that they are one of the most delicious things ever.

I have to say that I am not a huge chip fan... I like steak frites... and I like bacon egg and fried potatoes but chips aren't something I eat that often... I mean I don't mind them but I've never understood how people can eat them every day...

Mmmmmmm yes I absolutely agree, they're the best - crispy, soggy, thick, thin - I don't care, I want some NOW! And did you notice, you're question probably got the most positive response EVER on Yahoo Answers?!

i don't agree fried chips are better i prefer oven chips there still Delicious

especially by the seaside with a bit of fresh fish straight out of the paper. Its great living in Norfolk for this reason. So much coastline and so many chip shops!
