It WOULD be too late, IF it were mankind's fault. But we are presently in the middle of an interglaical period. It's as warm as it CAN be right now. It is perfectly plausible that without any input from mankind at all, we would STILL be experiencing exactly this kind of weather. If you look to geologic history, we are way overdue for another ice age. And mechanisms like the halting of the oceanic deep water currents could well be a natural result of the earth's orbital track. We really NEED to prepare, and move out into space colonies, or it'll be back to the Neolithic without a single Neandrathal to lead the way!

It is never to late to help our planet out. On the other hand I can see where you are coming from. After all theses years not much has changed. We are still fighting about the climate change and what should be done.
Living just at our means will not make a difference in the long run. The people that live above there means are more likely to be able to live more green friendly. It cost money to live environmentally friendly. It is not just about cutting back on stuff or stop buying stuff. It is a new life style in which the whole world has to come together and decide.

I got it... Lets line up everyone responsible for climate change and sacrifice them against a stone wall.... Good idea? Uh...didn't the Aztecs do that when the weather didn't suit them? I guess some things just never change...
Had man not become industrialized we would still be swinging in the trees throwing poop at each other... If we can fix it, lets do it, if not, shut the **** up...

Like "Inconvenient Truth" put it, man will behave just like the frog in the slowly heating boiling pot. I am afraid I have zero faith in mankind as a whole. No, only earth will force change upon man by mass extinction and the absolute destruction of our global economy and life.
I do believe that wildlife, plant life and even man will survive...but it will be a tough 1000 yrs +.

although I am an optimist-yes its too late
Developing countries like China and India-both with 1 billion more people (each) than USA-are becoming the industrialized nations now in the global scheme. These countries do not have pollution control measures like Europe and the states-this, in additional pollution-ripping down rain forests, polluting and overfishing our waters-new viruses with no cure-you do the math-hope I'm wrong
