im a senior in high school and theres this girl in my 1st period a sophmore whom ive taken a liking to. shes REALLY quiet and shy and NEVER talks to anyone although she is very sweet. we had been talking for the past couple of weeks on and off. last tuesday i asked her what she was doing that friday and asked if she wanted to go out, she said ummm we'll see, we'll see. i then asked her that friday if she thought about what i asked her she said yeah, yeah i did. she said she asked her mom and her mom said umm No way. she said Im sorry. i then asked if shed let me take her home, she said ive got a ride. do u think what she said is legit, or do u think she turned me down cause shes shy or cause she doesnt like me?

She could have made it up, but regardless, you are dateless Friday night. I don't think the reason is all that important unless you want to keep trying. I would try one more time, if she turns you down again, forget about her.

I think it is legit. My girlfriend's parents where the same way. It could possibly be because she is shy, but it is also possibly because your a Senior, some people don't like dating older people. They think that they'll move to fast, etc. etc. Just give it time for her to get your trust, ask if she would like to go to the movies in about a week or two weeks from now and work your way from there. Maybe it is because her mom doesn't know you. If you ask her if it is a better chance if her mom meets you, then you also have a better chance of giving her a ride home, meeting her parents, and asking them if you could take her out on a date. That is what I usually do and it never fails. Keep me posted on how everything works out!

I think that if she didnt like you she would have told you by now and not have used her mom as an excuse not to be with you or she could be afraid to tell you that she dont like you and did use her mom as an excuse. A way to tell is that you should bring her flowers or a note to school and put it in her locker or give them/it to her personally and see what her reaction is. By doing this you should be able to tell from her reaction if she likes you or not.

Slow down and take a breath! if she is shy she might need some time to warm up to u just try to get her talking to you in school then move up to a ride home get to know her and her family then once you really get to know them like on a first name base try to see if she wants to go to a movie or a bit to eat!
Calm down and slow it down if it's the first time you talked to her she is probably nervous too.

Her mom might have a strict rule about dating. Just keep talking to her and maybe meet the parents (be a gentlemen). She still likes you. It just seems that her mom is holding her back from dating someone.

I get the feeling that her mom is very strict, she's probably not allowed to date yet (that would explain the introversion). She's just embarrassed to tell you about her house rules. Maybe you should just continue to be just friends.

probably because she is shy and her parents are probably really strict. just try to hang out with her as much as possible at school and write her little notes...it's a good form of communication. maybe it will progress to something more. good luck.

Do some more unofficial hanging out with her. Meet her parents. Then ask her on a real date again.
