Help!!! I just got my hair colored/highlighted and it was supposed to be "SUBTLE"! It's NOT! It's practically blonde! My question is can I get some of the highlights colored back to a more realistically subtle shade? Or will it damage my hair? I used to have jet black hair and this is such a drastic change that my dog didn't recognize me and barked like crazy! By the way, I did have it done by a professional. I was so shocked at the salon, but wanted to be "open" about it...but this is really NOT what we talked about...she said subtle browns and it's a harsh yellow! It's been less than 12 hours and I called her and am waiting for a reply!

Call your salon and let them know you are unhappy. It is possible they can just tone it, which would just be a different color rinse that would darken the color as well as get rid of any brassiness (the harsh yellow). After you get it fixed if you feel like it is damaged, Bumble and Bumble makes a product called Deeep (yes 3 E's, not a misspell) that works great or Ojon makes a great deep conditioner too. I get my hair lightened every 5 to 6 weeks plus love the flat iron and the Bumble stuff keeps my hair shiny happy and healthy. Good luck though!

That hair stylists or color technician didn't know what she was doing.Go to another Salon. They can probably help you. If want to a really nice subtle color try going into the brown. Here are some you can probably try. Cocoa Brown, Dark Brown, Chestnut, Choclate or Cinnamon, Dark Golden Brown. But you don't have to choose anyof these just go to another salon and ask the stylist what will suit you the best. GOOD LUCK!!

This happened to me. I went to a salon for highlights and walked out with BLEACHED YELLOW hair. I waited 2 days to try to be reasonable and adjust, but then I called the salon manager and they had the top colorist fix it for free. Of course, I had to tip the girl that fixed me, besides that I live in NYC and my botched color job at this salon cost me $240 before I tipped anyone. Just call the manager and be polite, you'll get fixed : )

There's no right or wrong hair color for anyone really. You're just gonna be different. I'd say enjoy being a blondie for a while. If you really don't like what it's turned out to be, use a dye that you can buy at the supermarket. Get 'Jet Black'...it'll all be back to normal.

I'll let the women tell you about the dangers of double coloring. I'd say just enjoy the look for a couple weeks. Yeah, you and your dog don't recognize you anymore, but you were looking for a little change anyway. You got a big change, but don't run from it, be a blonde asian for two or three weeks and enjoy it. You can make it darker again after that, but give blonde a try! It only looks bad if you think it does.

Go back and tell her you think it's too yellow and she can do a toning rinse that will take the brassy color out of it. Then give it a week, you might like it. When it's a drastic change it takes some getting used too.

Wait and see what she says. She should offer to fix it for free. If she does not then you can either go to another salon or do it yourself.

you can definitely have them coloured back it' not any worse than bleaching your hair . by colouring it back darker you are actually putting something back into your hair. taking pigment out is worse then putting it back in.
